Republican Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida on Monday downplayed the threat Russian President Vladimir Putin's military poses on the world during an appearance on Fox & Friends
"The fear of Russia going into NATO countries and all of that and steamrolling...That has not even come close to happening," DeSantis said. "I think they've shown themselves to be a third-rate military power. I think they've suffered tremendous, tremendous losses."

DeSantis was a former naval JAG, not an intelligence officer. He is about to learn.
His comment was a mess for sure.

True. But that is not the attitude to have.
Probably at least half of the posters here know that the Deep State is blowing smoke on Ukraine related topics.
It is scary that DeSantis is not up to that standard.
He may regret those words in the future.

They will become a threat to NATO when they reach for their nukes.
DeSantis has spent the last year learning about the Russian military. For example the flag ship cruiser Moskva’s ignominious redeployment to the bottom of the Black Sea.
He’s absolutely right, and I’ve been saying the same thing for a long time — even here on FR. Russia’s military is Third World, at best.
The MIC has been lying to America for a long time, regarding the capabilities of Russia and China, in order to line their pockets.
No one’s denying they both have nuclear arsenals, but even those may be exaggerated. Their conventional forces, however, are nothing compared to the First World, especially the US.
So what did DeSantis identify as the strategic objective??
