Failed presidential candidate Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) told reporters on Wednesday that former President Donald Trump will likely be the Republican nominee in 2024, and the potential wide field of candidates will only improve his chances.
“I think President Trump is by far the most likely to become our nominee,” he said in the Capitol. “If there’s an alternative to that, it would be only realistic if it narrows down to a two-person race at some point.”
Romney’s comment came the day after former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley launched her 2024 presidential campaign, joining Trump. The field is expected to grow in the following months, with many potential politicians weighing their candidacies.

The last time I cared what Mitt Romney had to say was in his debate with Barack Obama when he said “I agree with him”. The best rebuttal he could come up with in a debate was I agree with my opponent. He did it more than once in that debate. It was like a comedy routine except he wasn’t funny. That is the last time I listened to him ever and I never will again.

But Mitt’s little butt-buddy Paul Ryan says no way DJT will be the nominee.
People like Romney...who claim we need to move beyond the Trump era fail to see the reality that in 2024 that is indeed what we would have to do - he could not run again due to term limits. Romney backing the phony impeachment over the Ukraine phone call, etc. and the resulting media attention may have been enough to turn that fraction of a percent the other way that would have given Trump over 270 electoral votes. Romney himself helped extend this “era of Trump” he says we supposedly want/need to move away from.
He wants a narrower field, which of course means...
