WASHINGTON — At John Fetterman’s desk in the Senate chamber, there is a newly installed monitor that rises or lowers, depending on whether he sits or stands, and provides closed captioning so he can follow the proceedings. At the center dais, a custom desk stand has been built to accommodate the same technology for when he takes his shifts presiding over the Senate. The sergeant-at-arms has arranged for live audio-to-text transcription for the committees on which Fetterman serves, and plans to expand the service to all Senate hearings.
But his adjustment to serving in the Senate has been made vastly more difficult by the strains of his recovery, which left him with a physical impairment and serious mental health challenges that have rendered the transition extraordinarily challenging — even with the accommodations that have been made to help him adapt.
The latest health scare convinced his staff that Fetterman needs a better plan to take care of himself, both physically and emotionally.
Fetterman declined to be interviewed for this story. But aides and confidants describe his introduction to the Senate as a difficult period, filled with unfamiliar duties that are taxing for someone still in recovery: meetings with constituents, attending caucus and committee meetings, appearing in public at White House events and at the State of the Union address, as well as making appearances in Pennsylvania.

I was looking up Fetterman, because I just read article on NYTimes article:

These people really have NO clue about life.
Planting the seeds ...
Rember when Republicans were shouting this very same thing before the election and Democrats, and the harpies on The View all, in unison, said that saying such things by Oz or any other Republican was mean-spirited and callous?
Now the Democrats have at least two visibly brain dead elected officials. I weep for an electorate and a nation that is so mentally and emotionally pliable that they would vote in such people despite the overwhelming physical evidence that they are unfit and incapable of holding office.
Ha ha ha ha

I would begin an advertising assault in PA on Democrats who voted Fetterman into office. This is an outrage.
‘mental health issues’.
In the beginnning they tried to say he had ‘hearing issues’. They were then forced to admit that he couldn’t process speech, but insisted he didn’t have brain damage. However, brain damage would be the only explanation if he can’t understand speech.
Now we’ve got ‘mental health issues’. I’m guessing he’s having personality swings and is probably difficult to deal with part, or all, of time.
We all knew he was covering up serious problems and his refusal to release his medical records confirmed that. Of course the MSM participated in the coverup, no surprise there. Let’s see how much spin the media puts on his current issues.
Really? Does anybody ever get better from a major stroke?
“… to rely primarily on a tablet to transcribe what is being said to him. The hearing issues are inconsistent; they often get worse when he is in a stressful or unfamiliar situation. When it’s bad, Fetterman has described it as trying to make out the muffled voice of the teacher in the “Peanuts” cartoon, whose words could never be deciphered.…”

Here’s a sample of the Peanuts’ teacher’s voice:

It’s the New York Times. All the manufactured newz product that isn’t fit to print.....
the problem with this guy was he was retarded before the stroke so it was hard to tell what was damage and what was normal for him!
Laboring? I do more work by Monday morning at 10am then a Senator does all week. It should be a full time job, no exceptions.
He may have said that, but more likely said, “uuuhhh” while staring into space and peeing his pants.
He and Biden have little chats like that.
The first time I saw Festerman the first thought I had was PPP= Piss Poor Protoplasm
Just do what comatose mcconnel does.
“.......which left him with a physical impairment and serious mental health challenges that have rendered the transition extraordinarily challenging........”
cripes...who wrote that...? our tongue-tied and word-salad-prone Vice President??
Like a fish labors to adjust to Life at MIT.
Good point.
2+2 doesn’t equal five quite yet, and the memory hole isn’t functioning perfectly.
Nevertheless, the New York Times is perfectly comfortable acting as if Winston’s travail is already complete.
[Leaving out a few things to avoid spoiling things for those Freepers who, inexplicably, have not yet read (or finished reading) 1984.]
Bizarro MIT, maybe.
Filled with sociopaths.
