Navy SEAL Deserter Killed in Ukraine, Official Says

Former Navy SEAL Daniel W. Swift was killed in Ukraine on Wednesday, a Navy official told NBC News Friday.

Swift had been in active deserter status since March 11, 2019, the Navy Absentee Collection and Information Center said.

Seems that there weren’t any articles on this guy being a deserter until he popped up dead. Makes one wonder whether he was a ‘deserter’ before or after he was dead.

People go AWOL from the military all the time. It isn't really considered newsworthy unless something like this happens.

It's not like they send bounty hunters after them. The way the military sees it, they'll pop up on the radar sooner or later.

Swift’s Navy bio shows he was a SEAL who has been in ‘active deserter status’ since March 11, 2019......a special warfare operator 1st Class who enlisted in the Navy in 2005.

Swift was most recently stationed in Coronado, California, and had also done stints in Alaska, Illinois, Florida and Georgia. He had earned numerous awards, including a Legion of Merit, a Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal, an Iraq Campaign Medal and an Afghanistan Campaign Medal.

He was with the Ukrainian Interior minister's entourage which was a super puma the Ukrainians used to transport high level officials to emergency sites.
That being said, someone in the US CIA, DOD, etc.. had to know that this "Deserter" was part of the Ukrainian Interior ministers regular traveling group.
And on a conspiracy note, Zelensky has said that they will investigate this thoroughly.
Ukrainian National Police confirmed that Interior Minister Denis Monastyrsky, First Deputy Minister Yevheniy Yenin and State Secretary Yuriy Lubkovychis were among the dead. Tetyans Shubek an assistant to the minister was killed in the crash.
Thats 4 of the six passengers, and an American seal "deserter" .

He was an ex-SEAL with problems who went AWOL 4 years ago, lost his trident, and went to fight in Ukraine from wherever he was living.
