Idaho State Police (ISP) have confirmed the suspect in multiple hit-and-run collisions leading up to an officer-involved shooting near Post Falls has died from his injuries. ISP did not state what the injuries were, nor who caused them. No officers were injured.
While westbound traffic was closed on the I-90 for several hours following the incident, it is now open again in both directions. There are no significant delays at this time.
Further updates will be released by the Coeur d’Alene [Idaho] Police Department.
I-90 westbound near Post Falls will remain closed for most of the day after a suspect in multiple apparently intentional hit-and-run crashes was involved in a crash with a Post Falls [Idaho] Police Department (PFPD) vehicle.
Officers responded and found the suspect in the 700 block of Spokane Street where they attempted to stop them.
According to PFPD, the suspect intentionally rammed a patrol car to escape, and police pursued the vehicle onto the I-90. The suspect rammed another patrol vehicle on I-90 at milepost 4, at which time "shots were fired."
PFPD did not specify who fired shots but did confirm no officers were hit and no suspects are outstanding. A body was visible at the scene of the crash, and the suspect's truck had several bullet holes.

This is what the rammed Post Falls patrol car looks like. The perp must have been moving at a high speed to do that.
Post Falls is a nice little town not far from me. Hope the perp rots in jail.
Ooops. Too dead to rot in jail.
Is he still dead?
The perp has gone to his great reward! Happy to say!
PF is just 13 miles from me.
“It isn’t clear if the perp pulled a weapon on the police. That’s a lot of holes in the driver’s door.”
Once he displayed willingness to ram police cars, a heavy pickup IS a deadly weapon.
Be interesting to know if the perp shouldn’t even have been in the USA.
I figured ramming a cop car like that is justification to open fire.
Ramming anyone like that should mean open season.
excellent groupings on that door, considering the idiot must of been moving. I count 20 holes.
I think his pickup truck was hung up on the patrol car he rammed, hence not moving. Look at his back wheels off the ground. He couldn’t drive forward off the patrol car.
I thought that was a darn good grouping, too. It seems these days so many officers cannot hit the broad side of a barn.
Or was a suspect in a big murder investigation...
I count 21 holes. Based on the grouping, I think a few more must have gone over the top of the door, too.
I wonder if this has any connection to the Moscow murders....
Only if the person is ramming a police car or trying to run a LEO down. Not if a person is ramming your car or trying to run you down. You will be arrested for unloading 20 rounds into his door.
Not if it’s a 4X4. Front wheels are still on the ground. Best to put the azzhole’s mind to rest. IMO.
Any chance the perp was wanted for the Idaho quadruple murders?
Whether or not the perp pulled a weapon on the cops is immaterial. A full sized pickup is a lot more lethal than a handgun. Deadly force was clearly authorized.

Yeah, it’s a good sign, but how many shooters were there, and how many shots were fired?
Reminds me of that old tired joke:
Q — who fired the final five bullets into Mussolini?
A — Three hundred Italian partisans!
Looks like at least one small propane tank in the truck, RT-rear, next to tailgate.
Really have to wonder what he had in mind, where.
Yes, and he will probably still vote Democrat.
Ooops. Too dead to rot in jail.
Is he still dead?

Keep in mind how many different times Yassir Arafat died on F.R.
