Buffalo has been plunged into chaos as brazen looters wreak havoc on storefronts amid a historic blizzard that dumped six feet of snow on the northern New York city.
It has become the deadliest storm to hit the western part of the state in 50 years, with at least 27 people reported dead as scores of others remain trapped in their houses and cars.
Roads in the city remain impassable under several feet of heavy snow, as first responders struggle to reach those who remain trapped days after the storm hit.

They had a really bad blizzard when I was a kid, but don’t remember any news about looting then.
Seems like a sign of a decaying society.
Nothing from the state or federal legislative delegations.
This city had a good 2-3 days in advance to prepare and set up things like using storefronts as emergency shelters and such.
This reminds me of the 1995 Chicago heat wave when Daley sat on his ass until hundreds of bodies started stacking up behind homes with bars on their windows.
I feel bad for the businesses. They are shut down by weather for the busiest season and now their stores are looted and vandalized. The idiots believe “insurance” will cover all of this so nobody pays a price but that is an absolute lie.
We cannot do much about it and maybe the residents there will have to get pi$$ed off enough to demand change and hold people accountable.
If not, they will have to travel far to shop.

Six feet of snow is a decent amount of snow when it all falls at once.
In other places rising looting would lead to rising death tolls.

Declare state of emergency > impose martial law > deploy National Guard > set dusk-to-dawn curfew > arrest looters (or shoot, if necessary)

And that’s why there is not looting in those place. It’s a delicate balance of threat of death and peace.
Being a Democrat means you never have to answer for anything.
Whew… it’s a good thing they voted Nov. 8 for the status quo, otherwise one might surmise the populace would be angered.
