A friend had her friends 73 year old mom get stuck right after this mess hit. Things were okay..rainy but okay, and then it hit like a switch was flipped.
They found her deceased tonight. It was a total white out here for over 30 hours. If you got caught in it you had to stay in your vehicle and hope to be found because you couldn’t see where to go. It just went on too long for some.
Ive heard that in the old days they used to tie a rope between the barn and the house to not get lost in incoming blizzards on the farms.
That is awful.
Was she at home or on the road in a car?
That is so sad. Sending up prayers for the lady’s loved ones and for all of you.
Ryan Hall mentioned this during his live stream the other night...one side of a town would be twenty degrees warmer than the other as the front swept thru. One example I recall was 47 on the east side of Memphis, 25 on the west...that's a hell of a temperature drop over such a short distance...reminiscent of a chinook in reverse.
