The initial population of infecteds were relatively few.
They would and should have been quarantined, but C. Everett Koop and Fauci refused to institute quarantining WHEN IT COULD have been extremely effective.
So they botched this and millions and millions have become infected, and the disease is permanently endemic in every country.
It could have been eradicated.
When it came to SARS-2-Covid 19 (Covid) they botched it by institution of unnecessary and overreaching quarantines on the general population that were entirely too strict and were tantamount to shutting down the entire economy of the world.
Catastrophic.
However, the worst thing he did was taking a pathogen and making it many times more virulent in a strange quest (probably a ruse for developing bioweapons) to research the virus.
Never before had it been 'necessary' to genetically alter a pathogen and make it more virulent as a means of controlling the disease. He did this work in China in contravention of bans of two administrations on gain of function research.
So Fauci's legacy is of mass murder, mendacity, stupidity, venality, and treason.
Add on the fact that he undermined the centuries of trust the American public had placed in their physician class.
His HIV work killed off a number of male homosexuals and his WuFlu work killed off a much larger number of Americans of all types. The extent of hia sterilization of American women is not yet evident but will be soon enough.
Fauci being wrong, yet again.
The sooner the better.
