The process of carbon sequestration helps mitigate climate change, because it locks away carbon that otherwise would have warmed the planet somewhere else for hundreds, if not thousands, of years.

These people are both obsessed and wrong. The total tonnage of whales on the planet is infinitesimal. Their presence or absence has zero effect on co2 on a planetary scale.

It doesn’t take much “science” to figure out or conclude what you said.
It’s preposterous to think the total tonnage of whales would be anywhere near consequential. Especially compared to the total tonnage of ocean water and plant life in the oceans and on land.
