Fatal stabbings and slashings are up an alarming 37% in the Big Apple this year.
The NYPD has logged 96 blade-involved killings so far in 2022, compared with 70 for the same period in 2021, according to department stats obtained by The Post.
Stabbings and slashings overall are up 10% in 2022, with 4,344 compared to 3,954 last year, the stats show.

In an official statement, the fatal slashings and stabbings will now be called, Pointy Object Crimes or POCs for short. Mayor Adams went on the state that POCs must be eliminated.

Problem with lying about crime is bystanders, friends, coworkers and relatives are shaken and upset when someone is a victim of violent crime. Then the cheery BS about overall categories of crime being lower do not matter to them.
Universities cover up crime so prospective tuition paying parents won't be scared off. A law about reporting is often circumvented. I personally was working at one and we were shaken up by a sweet student assistant who was pounced upon by "teens" from the bushes at night, just 10 seconds walk from the library. Her assault was a cause of anger and fear especially for the women but not only for them.
When the crime report came out it listed zero for such assaults. Woman who supervised the victim: "Well, I guess (name) doesn't count as a person. She doesn't exist to them."
I believe there are statistics and studies that agree with that, probably varies with the individual and the circumstances.
