expressing confidence that the country’s plans to cut energy usage will be enough to see it through the winter.
I'm on a couple of frugal-living discussion groups. Starting around March, there were posts by people in Europe, mostly Germany, asking for ways to prepare food without a stove, because they could no longer afford the cost of energy to run it with.
I dare those "confident" officials to stand in the kitchen of a family that can't afford to boil water, and tell me again how cutting energy usage is enough.

At that rate the reserve zeroes out in March, at which time the average low temperature is still in the 30's Fahrenheit in most of Germany. If it does turn out to be the colder than average winter they're now predicting they aren't even going to make it until then.
The Greens are scrambling to find a scapegoat other then their own ridiculous policies. The problem with RussiaRussiaRussia is that it validates what that U.S. president nobody likes was saying. What to do?
