Methinks governments at all levels works best with “citizen-legislators” who enter the public arena for a sort time to share their insights from the private sector and then after their limited time in public office return to the private sector. I like the revolving door approach rather than elected official for life mode!
In Covington, Ga, the “PART TIME” City Council voted themselves a pension.
Don’t know if it was ever overturned. I doubt it, as many don’t even pay attention to the little things like this, that allow creep and then become big things.
