The U.S. Justice Department has asked a federal judge to hold Donald Trump's office in contempt of court for failing to fully comply with a subpoena to return all classified documents in the former president's possession, the Washington Post reported on Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.
U.S. District Court Judge Beryl Howell has not yet held a hearing or ruled on the request, the newspaper reported.
One of the key areas of disagreement centers on the Trump legal team's repeated refusal to designate a custodian of records to sign a document attesting that all classified materials have been returned to the federal government, the report added.
Trump's side has taken the position that such a request is unreasonable, according to the Washington Post.

Nothing but a lame attempt to set him up for a perjury trap. As soon as he test took what they say, they will produce an extra document and said that one was not on his list. He does not have to give testimony against himself. When somebody conducts a search warrant they’re entitled to take those things hang onto them, use them, etc. But the person who the search warrant was conducted against has no obligation to do anything with your inventory.

This is an attempt to make an end run preventing him from claiming he declassified some thing. The minute he certifies as they wish, they will insert some thing not on that list and say he did not specify this, and was in possession of this document.
You have no obligation to testify against yourself. Just start criminal court system at work again, and our criminal DOJ.

No matter how she rules, Trump will ignore and appeal. There is no way the Supreme Court will say he must be compelled to testify about what the FBI stole from his house.
They are at a dead end and know it. If they try to charge him with possession of classified documents, he can easily say they would be classified and it will easily pass test. They know that, so they’re trying to engineer a trap.
This is no different than a local police department demanding that you be compelled to produce a list of everything that was in your medicine cabinet after they raided your house. And then wanting you to certify their list of what they seized from your house. Childish in it’s incompetence. .

Trump should ask the DOJ to define what Constitutes classified documents and who has the authority to classify and declassify.....
It would be illegal to do any sort of demonstration on that judge’s front lawn. That’s what they were doing to the SCOTUS judges on account of their changing the baby-killing ruling. It was wrong then. It would be wrong now.
