Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) predicted on Thursday that leftist President Joe Biden’s decision to trade imprisoned basketball player Brittney Griner for notorious Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout, known as the “merchant of death,” would result in people dying as rogue states interpreted the move as open season to arrest Americans.

Biden announced and the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed on Thursday that Griner and Bout were both free.

Biden did not trade anything. He does not know the difference between vanilla and chocolate pudding.

He didn’t trade a damned thing . . . the unelected people deep in our White House are doing all this crap. He’s mentally too far gone to have any idea as to what they’re doing.

Very good. Who has heard of this Bout guy before the media decided to declare him merchant of death. He was prosecuted and convicted, clearly, but for doing what?

Selling arms? Like the US does? Like the UK does? Like Russia does? How is he a merchant of death and everyone else is not?

“Who has heard of this Bout guy before the media decided to declare him merchant of death.”

There was a pretty good Nick Cage movie called Lord of War based on Bout’s life.

He is hardly an unknown figure.

He was an international outlaw, Mister Beeg. Caught by undercovers wanting arms for terrorists out to bring Americans to room temperature.

How is he a merchant of death and everyone else is not?

He is suspected of selling arms to Al Qaeda and the Taliban.

We traded one of the world's most dangerous men for a pothead that hates America and was guilty of the crime the Russians charged her with.

This is imbecilic. At least it got the dems some more votes from the black alphabet crowd.

Wait a minute. So you guys are saying he is evil because he was selling arms to people the US does not approve of. A sanctions buster.

Sorry, but that’s no more evil than selling arms to some country not sanctioned. America is a terrorist in the eyes of the majority — yes, the majority — of the world. America sells arms to people that are not sanctioned. Others might want them sanctioned. But because it’s a sanction target of the US, then he’s a merchant of death.

As if someone targeted by a non sanction is not just as dead.

Can the Democrats now shut up about Russia and gun control?

Seeing how they made the greatest sweetheart deal ever with Russia in freeing a man who has flooded the world with weapons.

He failed to pay his bribes to US politicians.

Sorry, but [selling arms to Al Qaeda and the Taliban is] no more evil than selling arms to some country not sanctioned.

Let's agree to disagree.

And I’m sure Joe Biden left plenty of arms for free for them in Afghanistan.

When does Biden go on trial?

Bout is likely working with elements of the Russian government and military. This explains their strong interest in getting him back. Russians used Bout to sell their arms to more unsavory elements. But, of course, “unsavory” is in the eye of the beholder (or whataboutist).
