A bit of trivia. In saving Saving Private Ryan the trooper mistakenly identified as Ryan who turned out to be "Minnesota Ryan" was played by Nathan Fillion. In that photo you can just see the top of his head. Later seen in Serenity/Firefly, and long running TV series Castle and The Rookie.

And Montgomery was overrated. He should have been relieved of command after his failure to take Caen and the concurrent failure of Operation Goodwood. He really should have been relieved of command after the disaster of Operation Market Garden which failed to get across the Rhine.
