The gunman who allegedly killed five people at a Colorado LGBTQ club is reportedly the grandson of a Republican California lawmaker who compared the Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol to the Revolutionary War.
Accused gunman Anderson Lee Aldrich’s mother has been identified by multiple news outlets as Laura Voepel, whose father is Randy Voepel, 71, a state assemblyman who lost his seat in the midterm elections, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
The politician, who has represented the 71st District since 2016, was assailed last year when he compared the Jan. 6 insurrection to the American Revolutionary War.
“This is Lexington and Concord. First shots fired against tyranny,” he told the Union-Tribune three days after the riot. “Tyranny will follow in the aftermath of the Biden swear-in on January 20th.”

Pretty sure nobody cares one way or another. The tribal identities are set and only care about narratives that enforce their held views. The intent of American ‘news’ is to demonize and galvanize, not report objective facts.

Media came out minutes after the shooting claiming the shooter was a homophobic Trump supporter - as are all of them.
Nancy Pelosi wasn’t far behind, claiming MAGA and Trump were behind the shooting.
Sure sounds like another setup.
I haven’t seen a father mentioned. Single Mother raising a boy? We may have found the root problem. Moms are wonderful but kids need a Father too.
Just a coincidence after the mid-term election and Trump announcing his run for the presidency.

In other news the shooter knew a guy who knew a guy who knew a guy whose cousin’s sister once dated a guy whose best friend was a member of the NRA!!!!

I read in one news article that the perp had been living with his grandparents for a time, IIRC after the bomb threat incident.
Just tried to look up a pic of the kid and saw 2, since none of the MSM is putting one up.
Investigators are looking into a motive, and said they will be weighing hate crime charges. I’ll give you the motive.....I will go on record and say that this kid has been having some “identity issues” for some time and he acted out on those impulses. There’s the motive.

He later claimed his comments were misconstrued and said the actions of President Donald Trump supporters at the Capitol were despicable.
The mom, though (this guys daughter) ended up in a rented room, and despite being a second amendment supporter herself, she was wondering how her son ended up with guns. There has to be a mental health angle on this.
Who raised this 22 year old gunman? Doesn’t sound like it’s the mom, and if it was the dad of this teen mom, that sounds questionable too since he clearly neglected his own daughter for her to have ended up in such a state.
That paper used to be pretty decent. Its Op/Ed section was always pretty good.
Its reporting has completely gone down the sh*tter in the last couple of years.
Sad, it was the only decent paper in NY, at one time.
It only remains to "figure out" the connection in each individual case.
