Thanks, free traitors.
Didn’t they get the tech they needed to miniaturize their warheads and guidance systems from the Clintons, in exchange for cash? Thanks, Democrats!
Miniaturizing the warheads, no. But they did get the ability to MIRV their missiles and to greatly improve the reliability of their missiles from Loral and Hughes during the Clinton administration.
You can all thank the Bill Clinton regime for giving the ChiComs the necessary ingredients to surpass us in technology. Remember the LORAN Corporation?
You mean Loral Space?
I do. They gave the Chinese solid rocket fuel tech that allowed them to start fielding ballistic missiles.
The tech they got since then, as well as the money to build up their military, was a direct result of the free trade deals.
While that is true, it does not change the impact. Prior to the Clinton deals the Chinese were not able to get MIRVing right so they were limited to a single warhead on their missiles. But once they learned how to reliably MIRV their missiles, they could put multiple warheads on future missiles, greatly increasing the threat from those missiles.
Did we honestly think they wouldn't steal the technology we sent over there, when they already had?
And what did we think they were going to do with all of those consumer dollars that we sent over there? Spend it building up OUR military?
And for what? To save a few pennies on communist made goods? How is that working out?
We can blame Clinton for what he did and rightfully so, but that doesn't excuse our side for passing these trade deals even after knowing all of this.
Yes I know all Freepers didn't support those trade deals, but those that did know who they are.
Similarly, anyone that thinks that there are any large, independent Chinese businesses that are not subservient to the Chinese Communist Party fails to understand the Chinese business environment.
