In August, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell told NBC News he was confident Republicans could take the House. As for the Senate . . . “Senate races are just different,” he said. “They’re statewide, candidate quality has a lot to do with the outcome.”
He was absolutely right, of course. Candidate quality gave Democrats control of the Senate again, and forced a runoff in Georgia.
In Arizona, for one, McConnell had wanted popular Gov. Doug Ducey to run. But ex-President Donald Trump had slandered Ducey, vowing to oppose him every step of the way because he had refused to illegally overturn the results of the 2020 election. So the GOP got Blake Masters, who just lost to Democrat Mark Kelly.
And Trump blames . . . Mitch McConnell.

None of the other Republicans would have done any better. But Fetterman was not, I repeat, not the better candidate for the job of U.S. Senator.
No, you are wrong.
Fetterman would not have been the better SENATOR.
But he was a much better CANDIDATE, for Pennsylvania, in 2022.
By your standards, which are nothing more than your disgust for Oz, is that a dead man/woman would have made a better candidate for Pa.
You wrong me, sir. Fetterman is not dead.
And when a candidate buries the needle on my disgust-o-meter, and then goes on to lose to a vegetable, I stand by my oft-stated position that he was a poor candidate.
I Never said Fetterman was dead, I said a dead man was better than Oz in your opinion.
I remember people being disgusted by Trump and said he too was a bad candidate. You can't tell how good a person will be until you actually get to see him do the job. Oz is no slouch, but you would never even gave him a chance, and probably refused to vote for him. Am I right about you not voting for him? If so, you helped him to be the losing candidate. How noble of you Jim. /sarcasm
I wrong you? How did I wrong you? I made a statement that refuted your claim that Fetterman was a good candidate. Cry me a river then, if you are among those who are easily offended.
I could care less what you stand by, because that does not make the statement an accurate statement, just a silly one.
Should have expected as much from Politico.

... and I did not see a default allocation anywhere on the page.
I did see where you could allocate the amount to Trump and the amount to Masters, but the default was ZERO for both of them.
