One word. Diesel
Deliberate stupid choices.
Yes, but they’ve really gone overboard (to say it mildly) since Biden. Biden has become a sugar daddy for every liberal with a wish list. When Republicans take over, they need to end it. Dem’s know the hand outs are coming to an end, so they had to hand it all out in 2 years.
???
If the economy slows it will mitigate the effect of the diesel shortage by reducing demand.
“I’ve been trying to figure out what triggering event will start the domino effect.”
The election.
The bad stuff is already here, but the media, or Party propaganda organs, are not reporting it until after the election. Everything will seem to fall apart after the election, but that simply means that the truth can only be contained for so long.
Shut down production then blame Putin for the energy crisis. Yeah, right.
What scares me most is the diesel supply. We absolutely REQUIRE diesel, for everything from 18-wheelers to Navy ships to home heating oil. (I’m in New England, where LOTS of homes are heated with oil.)
What happens if somebody with evil intent decides to attack our diesel supply? Couple of guys with RPGs could cripple us. Jihadis spring to mind but “Just Stop Oil” and ANTIFA aren’t far behind. Do we have extra security on hand, to guard our diesel?
How many days before we run out of diesel? Approximately 20?
They’re already talking about diesel rationing here in New England, on top of the price increase. As in … sorry, you can’t entirely fill your tank.
I know some seniors who keep their homes toasty warm during winter and they are gonna suffer come mid-February. This is gonna suck.
Too late. Already here. In Ingles this morning. They had hamburger buns they had “on sale with card” two for $6.98.
Yesterday, a can of corned beef hash from a premium seller was priced at $5.00 a can (WM brand $1.75 cheaper).
It’s this way on nearly everything in all the grocery stores.
Yet, Biden has no clue about what his afternoon Tapioca pudding and ice cream cones cost - nor does he care.
I disagree. I’m in grocery stores nearly every day because I’m a mile away and I look for the best value/prices.
There are multiple items I used as indicators for several years about how prices were faring. It’s only been the past year that they’ve skyrocketed. And, I don’t give a crap about what the government says about ‘their’ indicators’ I have to actually pay for mine, not the taxpayers.
Yes, you’re right - ‘deliberate’...

Cancelling the Keystone pipeline was the first domino. The rest started falling after that, but in slow motion.
It will accelerate before the year’s end.
And if the repubs take the house, it will be their fault.
Indeed and closing oil pipe lines and ending drilling after all it’s only tied to everything.
Everybody back to the caves enjoy.
I’m in southeast Kentucky and my brother through his job makes daily contact with gas tanker trucks. The drivers have been telling him they have a 6 day supply left of where they are getting diesel to fill their trucks which brings us gas.
Oh wow. I didn’t realize just how serious it was getting here. I’ve been focusing on Europe’s fuel crisis. What a destructive 2 years it’s been.
I’ve been trying to figure out what triggering event will start the domino effect.
= = =
It is the tap against the first domino.
Most dominos are black, with white dots, if there is any clue in that.
Meanwhile, the double 20 dominos have more white in respect to black.
That was Saturday when he was told about 6 day supply. Tonight the fuel trucks are only hauling red diesel, they are out of regular diesel but are being told some may be released at midnight and that fuel trucks are in line hoping some is released.
If little to none are released over 72 hours it’s going to get interesting real quick in this area.
We are so screwed.

Doubtful. We don’t do anything wise or smart anymore. Those days are long gone. I feel for folks in New England, but many are uber liberal and have voted in these messes year after year. My daughter lives up there and has her head stuck deeply in the sand. I’m keeping our basement cleared in case she needs to come here and live with us at some point.
