On Jan. 6, 2021, a large group of evangelical Christians attacked the U.S. Capitol on the understanding that they were fighting for God's president. (Not all of those who stormed the Capitol were driven by religious convictions, of course, but a large proportion were.) They were ready to kill for their president, take down a democratic system that has endured nearly 250 years, and follow Donald Trump at God's supposed direction until America became a Christian theocracy. As the House Jan. 6 committee concludes its investigation, I think the power and significance of these evangelical believers have been overlooked.
Most people now understand that the solid foundation of support for Trump is connected to evangelical theology, and that was never more clear than on that fateful day. The Jan. 6 committee has assigned itself the task of identifying those who are guilty of planning and inspiring this coup attempt, and while the former president was obviously the central figure, I would like to shift the committee's attention to prominent evangelical pastors. These religious leaders have enormous political and spiritual influence and in many cases have provided the moral authority that led their followers to work toward the overthrow of American democracy.
The cross was visible everywhere on Jan. 6. The Christian faith — at least as they understood it — was aflame in the hearts of most of the people who attacked the capitol. The hard and almost incomprehensible truth is that many of these people had never committed a single act of violence in their lives, and on that winter day found themselves chanting, "Hang Mike Pence," and actually ready to carry that out. That could not have happened without the sincere faith that God himself was supporting their actions.

Remember that Mike Pence is as devout an evangelical Christian as any politician in America. He is committed to evangelical theology in his personal life and his political career. And yet he became enemy No. 1 to a group of purported evangelical believers who viewed him as a traitorous criminal and became committed to murdering him. That could not have happened without the profound conviction that Trump was the ordained president chosen by the creator of the universe.

Faith in God can be dangerous, as both sincere believers and nonbelievers are aware. Faith is behind the oppressive nature of Iran's morality police.
When you take people whose conscience, in any normal circumstance, would prevent them from committing a heinous or violent act and tell them, "This is for God," and their moral compass is pushed aside. Killing women for removing a garment from their heads — as has happened recently in the streets of Tehran — is literally insane. But for some people, if they become convinced they are following God's orders, it becomes possible to do it. Attacking the Capitol and seeking to hang Mike Pence and Nancy Pelosi is equally insane. But a person who literally believes that God told them to do it suddenly becomes capable of evil deeds well beyond their previous experience.

The only one who was ready to kill was the Capitol Hill policeman, an immigrant, a black man who shot an unarmed white woman.
Short version: “Those stupid, stupid, STUPID Christians! I wish they would all die right now!”
They must have thought their Abortion Narrative was going to carry the day next month, and are now realizing that The Steal has a bigger impact when it comes to the 2022 "election".

Ihave been writing letters to the editor for a long time in a desperate hope to change the direction of the evangelical Christian church as it relates to politics. It is difficult to express how hard it is to not be heard. In truth, this is why social media is such a popular thing. Being on Twitter or Facebook or TikTok allows millions of people to pretend they are being seen and heard. As I look back at my previous letters, I notice a progression that has led me into attempting a true reform of what we might call the “God vote.”
And this is why people now call evangelicals the “christian taliban”. If you ask people if they want a theocratic style of government a large majority will say NO.
Most Americans are middle of the road on many issues and do not like either the far left or far right.
Name one.
“MSN via Salon” means this is not expected, both being liberal and the latter being the one which imaginatively attempted to charge God with being a “cosmic rapist” for making Mary the reception of supernatural conception. Such is the irrational desperation of anti-theists, as if the Creator did not see the desire of devout women and hear prayer, and had no right to both create Mary and supernaturally bless her in being the mother of the long-awaited Messiah.

You are at a port along with many other people, trying to continue on a long journey to get to your preferred destination, and you have a choice between two companies, ships, captains and crews.
The ship on the Left insists on engaging in some non-traditional social engineering, and has a destination quite different than where you want to go live. The captain of this ship, owned by Soros and company enterprises, is (in his own words) a peace-loving, fair-minded, Kerry-for-President, former pot-smoking hippie (but who did not inhale), who is ever conscious of his/her racial color and supports guilt and discrimination based on this.
He (or “she” or “they” as the entity may choose to I.D. as), is an enrollee of PDOS (proxy servants of Satan) and as anti-life, abhors those “deplorables” who “cling to guns and religion,“ and supports a women's right to kill the unborn, and for self-identified men to use a bathroom with your wife or daughter - and for such to prepare for GRS (gender reassignment surgery) without parental knowledge - while seeking to increasingly control industry and the politically incorrect speech of others more.
In short, the captain and crew, reflecting company policy, is ever striving to fundamentally transform the society which produced the U.S. Constitution and reminds them of Biblical values.
In that interest, the captain informs you that on this ship there are many polices to be followed, which have been adopted from practices, principals or proposals of many elite liberal institutions of “higher” education. Which, among other things, means:
• This ship plans to fly the flag of Sodom, and anything but support for the nation for which it stands (such as kneeling in prayer when its anthem is played) will be considered evidence of homophobia, which is profoundly intolerable. Those found guilty of such can face severe economic sanctions.
• The choice of which bathrooms one uses is to be determined by whatever gender one feels comfortable with (at least at the moment). Objections to this will be penalized in accordance with the scale explained below.
• Any babies that may happen to be born during this journey can be disposed off if unwanted by the mother, rather than her having to share her accommodations with this unwanted tissue.
• This ship will be escorted by Greenpeace activists to warn whales of our approach, while representatives of PETA will be onboard to ensure a vegetarian diet is followed (no eggs!). However, feeding sharks with any manner of flesh will be sanctioned.
• This ship is a gun free zone, and our policy in case of encounters with those whom conservatives sees as enemies, such as pirates or communist “guerrillas,” will be to assure them we have no intent or means to harm them, and thus we expect they will reciprocate in kind. We can then smoke organic weed together, educate them on how to receive government benefits in California, and explain to them how they became “radicalized” because of conservatives.
• Consistent with this, corporal discipline of children (and only an average of 1.6 are allowed) is forbidden, as are all contact sports, but indoctrination by watching MSNBC or listening to NPR 5 hours a day will be required, after first reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the (future) United States of Sodom. Students will be tested on such issues as how many problems can be blamed on Climate Change, and why conservatives are dangerous racist homophobes, and how liberals are objective/fair-minded and should be in control as being the elite minds. And how to engage in intimidation against those who disagree.
Among the types of speech that are to be progressively censored is that which expresses any doubt of past or present warnings regarding Climate Change, any conclusions of evolutionary science, or liberal polices in general. And of course (as if we have to say it), any speech, oral or written, including songs, promoting Judaeo-Christian morality, or celebrating Christian beliefs, especially if conveying any official sanction. This is critical in order to foster our desired diversity.
• The crew has been hired based upon racial quotas (with sexual orientation qualifying as race). Although this means that the best qualified person may not be hired if he or she is of the wrong race or self-identified gender, this is necessary in order to avoid discrimination.
• Likewise, penalties for infractions by crew or passenger will be determined by a scale based on racial status, with those of a majority race being penalized the most, at least by writing an essay confessing to their guilt as the favored historical race, and their need to atone for it. This is only proper, for those of minority race are not to suffer due to what they had no control over.
• Consistent with this, those who purchased first-class accommodations and benefits, regardless of how many years they labored to attain them, are to be compelled to share what they acquired with all others, regardless of whether they be stowaways, those engaged in the street-level pharmaceutical trade, or students in the elite art of protesting.
• Sharing wealth as being an expression of mercy and grace is not condoned: instead, obtaining what others earned is to be considered a Right as Victims of those who labored for greater benefits, and the latter are to be increasingly penalized for gaining wealth, and for presuming to share such as acts of mercy and grace.
• This divestiture will first be for and through the captain and administration, who uniquely may enjoy without guilt greater benefits they attained as elite saviors of the perpetually oppressed. This is necessary in order to maintain a class-less society in which the goal is for all to share an equal level of prosperity [poverty] (except for their elite leadership comrades). At the ships final destination of Venezuela this goal will hopefully be realized.
• Cultural appropriations by certain races are prohibited, such as Europeans wearing Hawaiian shirts or cooking General Tso’s chicken (even if virtually unheard of in China). However, everything from wearing Western clothing to eating pizza or a sandwich (at least calling it that) is permitted regardless of where one is from.
• Freedom of speech is also not to be tolerated for anyone who has ever been banned by Facebook, or supports any organization promoting traditional moral values, and or has been censored by the $outhern Poverty Law Center, or voted Republican. The Terms of Service on your boarding pass provides more specific details of what may be judged offensive (note “otherwise objectionable” and “violative of any law”) by politically correct police at their discretion.
• If you have any doubt as to what may be considered offensive behavior, the general rule is that the alternatives to traditional Judaeo-Christian morals and principals are to be followed. For instance, expressing that unmarried consensual (though a formal consent form my be required) sexual relationships are sin will not be tolerated. However, failing to recycle is considered to be the equivalent of a mortal sin.
• Although extensive efforts have been made to prohibit intolerance, in case of violations, real or perceived, there are assigned Safe Places on every deck for those who feel offended by politically incorrect speech, or suspected microaggressions. Bring your own Play-Do if you prefer.
