Since Jill is filling in as president for her brain damaged husband, I’m sure that if Fedderman is elected, his wife will fill in for him as Senator.
She can be his service pet.
My guess is the plan has been—since the stroke—for JF to resign and award the senate seat to Mrs.

If Fetterman were unable to serve in the Senate, the governor of PA would appoint a replacement, to serve until the next election. If a Democrat is governor, he might well appoint her to take her husband’s place.
Ooops! President Lamebrain accidentally gave away the game plan.
If he wins and resigns, the Governor of PA picks the replacement.
