I’ve had to wear glasses since I was in grade school and while I always hated wearing them, getting my eyes checked was never a big deal until LensCrafters wouldn’t let me do my eye tests without a mask.
I’m a medical freedom guy. I don’t believe in forced vaccinations or vaccinations as a condition of employment. I’ve worn a mask when I had no choice but to wear one. I’m not a fan of masks, and I don’t think they work well.
If someone wants to do nothing about COVID, that’s their business. Conversely, If a person wants to take every shot in the world and wrap themselves up like a mummy, that’s also their business. It’s not my business. I don’t care.
Making children wear masks in school and closing schools anywhere was borderline criminal since children never had the same risks adults had. Florida proved children didn’t need masks, and schools could open without harming children.

Borderline, my non-compliant ass !
It’s not about protection. It’s about CONTROL.
I was in an eye doctor’s office two weeks ago. Everyone had to be masked, but ALL the patients shared one, one toilet, bathroom. Made no sense.
my cousin just goes to Walmart and sometimes another small store nearby which does the same job. I think it was 2 years ago that their policy of getting your glasses “within hours” was nonsense. It takes Days. 1-2 minimum turnaround esp. if it’s a high prescription.
You can get glasses on the interwebs for hundreds (plural) of dollars less than lenscrafters. You can get reasonably priced eye exams at many places
“I’ve worn a mask when I had no choice but to wear one.”
Lenscrafters didn’t give the author a choice. So if he was happy with their service wear the mask or take his business elsewhere which he did!
In certain areas of a hospital, masks are effective in preventing the infection of patients who may have reduced immunity to common pathogens -- that has been pretty firmly established. Patient care-givers? Gloves do more than masking to protect them from patients. Particularly when the care-giver encounters blood and other fluids.
Time to amp up the requirement for evidence that masking in the general population has an effect. Especially with "vaccinated" people.
(Yes, I've seen the suggestion that masking the "vaccinated" prevents the spread of "vaccine" residue. Again, though, haven't seen the evidence.)
A lot of people who work in “contact” services wear the masks, because they’ve been brainwashed by Big Media for 3 years that Covid is deadly and gonna kill them if they don’t
yes, we Freepers know the masks are useless, and the blatant hypocrisy of non-masked food courts nearby, but I still wear one to put them at ease
these employees have to deal with people all day, no need to unnecessarily scare them and stress them out ... we all gotta get along
I can put up with a mask for a few minutes, big deal
Isn’t it interesting that LGBTQ can get cranked up when they are ‘offended’ in the slightest way? The Media and government allows the offended get to call the foul. But when it comes to COVID mask policies it’s “Shut up and do what you’re told!”
Then don’t go.
It’s so stupid
“that’s their business”
Maybe consider whose business you are going in to visit. Does every business need to comply to what you want or should they run their operations as they desire? Acting Karen that others do not do what you want them to do sounds like a democrat.
So be done with them.
The article says to do what you want. Just don’t force others.
I feel the same way about the stores that herd customers through cattle chutes as if we can not queue up on our own. I’ve stopped using Best Buy for this reason and now our sporting goods store is doing the same. I find it VERY offensive, but my protest is mine alone. I have other places to spend my money.
You probably should read the article before commenting
Our local Home Depot took down their plexiglass shields a couple weeks ago! Hallelujah. The first glimpse of sanity returning.
What was the most stupid, least effective thing that stores did? Arrows on the floor with one-way aisles? Plexiglas shields? Non-stop PA announcements that “We are al in this together” and “Do your part to keep others safe”? Making all customers sanitize their hands before entering the store?
Agreed
I went to an eye appointment (not LensCrafters); I was a known customer/patient, they said they needed to “scan” my ID. I explained that they already knew me - didn’t matter. They *had* to scan my DL barcode.
I turn right around and walked out without another word.
My ophthalmologist — one of the top eye surgeons in this area — prefers that patients don’t wear masks. He’s seen too many weird eye issues since masking began. IIRC, he thinks it’s from people breathing out, which moves the concentrated crap living in masks up and into the eyes.
