I'm not a real groupie for Seth Rich stuff, but I don't think I've seen this detail before. Of course, it doesn't matter at all. It wouldn't change anything. Seems like some cheap shot at the murdered guy: "He drank a lot, you know. Probably deserved to be murdered." I don't know why they would report on this, and I don't know why I haven't seen it before. Feels weird.

I lived in the region for a couple of years.
If you plot the bar (assuming he left and walked a straight path to his apartment area), there’s around 50 minutes of extra time. I’ve always thought that he started off in the wrong direction (being drunk) and walked in circles for that 50-odd minutes.
I would add...just in general, from midnight to 5 AM, I wouldn’t be walking anywhere in the eastern side of DC. It’s just not safe.
I was going to mention that I don’t recall hearing he was heavily intoxicated before, but you beat me to it.
Maybe this detail is a planted seed for some new cover story.
