So a criminal turns in a stolen firearm for cash and then goes out and steals another firearm. Geniuses at work.

The law of unintended consequences. It will be interesting to see where all these “guns” come from.

Stupid liberal programs are .. stupid. Hammer down on the criminals, you idiots. Illegally gotten guns are the tools of criminals, and criminals will always find the tools they need.
Bring back swift and terrible justice like we had in the 40s and 50s. Stop preferential treatment of minority races.
Ah, no sense trying to reason with liberals. They've got the IQ of a shoelace.

Here the bad guys were taking the “cash” and buying a better weapon.

With corrupt being a synonym for liberal, I wouldn’t be surprised if the buy back those same guns multiple times In the front door, our the back door into the hands of the criminals.

Always hated the phrase “buy back”. The government - local, state, or national - never owned my firearms, so they can never “buy back” from me. Nor would I ever sell to them. I do like the idea of printing the firearms and letting them buy those back!

That isn’t enough to upgrade to a better weapon.

Theoretically, I could report my gun as stolen, turn it in for cash & then the city will give it back to me?

A $50 gift card was available for a non-functioning firearm...Buy a big magnet and a piece of rope, and go "fishing" in any river near a big city.

Houston's second gun buyback program sees record numbers: 'We believe this is the largest'Police never should have sold those firearms in the first place - then they wouldn't have to be buying them back now!

More language mangling. It's not a buyback because the government never owned nor sold those guns.
Just like so-called needle exchanges is a BS term because addicts don't hang onto and bring back their used ones. They fling them on the streets, as we all can see.
Just like "gender-affirming care" is in reality castration and surgical mutilation.
