WASHINGTON (AP) — The Biden administration is counting on a variety of private-sector partnerships to help fund and implement its ambitious goal of ending hunger in America by 2030.

Biden’s administration released a list of more than $8 billion in commitments to the cause from private companies, charitable foundations and industry groups. They range from outright donations to in-kind contributions of services and include:

—A $20 million commitment from the Novo Nordisk pharmaceutical company to improve access to healthy foods and safe spaces for physical activity in marginalized communities.

—A $3.85 million commitment from the Publix grocery store chain to supply food to local food banks and establish free mobile food pantries.

—$22 million from the Danone food company to fund a program to help “at least 300 million Americans to build healthier dietary habits.”

—A commitment from the Meijer grocery store chain to offer up to a 10% discount to incentivize users of the SNAP program to buy fruits and vegetables.

The White House should be more focused on reversing geriatric dementia.

And nothing mentioned about the production of this food. That money should go to US ranchers and farmers to increase production of food staples to be sold at reduced prices due to improvement initiatives for supply chain and reduction of fuel costs.

No magic here.

Impossible. There are self destructive people who will do whatever it takes to subvert help.

A noble cause, to be sure. But I wonder what the rake will be. Maybe 50%, or more. $8 billion is committed to the project, I’d be surprised if half of that gets to the people who really need it.

And as a side note, a hand up is obviously better than a handout. Trump wanted to bring industry back to the United States. That would have lifted many people out of poverty. But the Democrats and the Deep State prefer folks to be destitute and dependent. So Trump had to go.

I was around last time they made this promise. 59 years later and still “unfulfilled”. Kinda hard to end hunger on the one hand and choke off fertilizer production on the other. Is it OK I hate these people?

It wouldn’t cost a dime to get people to get “healthier eating habits”

Crack down on what foods EBT recipients can buy with other peoples money

Eliminate hunger and you will have a entire population of over fed blimps heading for a date with diabetes.

If these are private companies doing this then what exactly is Biden contributing?

The Obama-Biden admin declared back in 2015 to ending hunger in 10 years, so what is with Biden procrastinating until 2030?

End hunger? Doesn’t everyone get hungry? Isn’t that normal?

I think every president, especially democrat ones, has promised to “end hunger in America” by some designated date. Every effort, such as they were, vanished without a trace, leaving only debris like SNAP and WIC behind. This one will also.

Walking through a walmart these days, I would say America could use a bit more “hunger.”

Why not just send the food to South America rather than have the people come here?
