Scandinavian seismic stations register explosions near pipelines, raising fears of sabotage

A series of unusual leaks on two natural gas pipelines running from Russia under the Baltic Sea to Germany triggered concerns about sabotage Tuesday, overshadowing the inauguration of a long-awaited pipeline that will bring Norwegian gas to Poland to bolster Europe’s energy independence from Moscow.

Seismic stations Sweden, Norway and Finland registered two explosions Monday near the leaks.

Bjorn Lund, a seismologist with Uppsala University who is part of Sweden’s national seismic network, said the first explosion was recorded in the early hours southeast of the Danish island of Bornholm. The latter and stronger blast that night was northeast of the island and equivalent to a magnitude-2.3 earthquake.

“We know very well what an underwater blast looks like. And so in this case, there’s no doubt this is not an earthquake,” Lund said.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki called the events “an act of sabotage,” while Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said she could not rule it out after three leaks were detected over the past day on the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines, which are filled with gas but not delivering the fuel to Europe. An energy standoff over Russia’s war in Ukraine halted flows on Nord Stream 1 and prevented them from ever starting in the parallel Nord Stream 2.

Frederiksen, Morawiecki and Polish President Andrzej Duda symbolically opened a valve of a yellow pipe belonging to the Baltic Pipe, a new system that will bring Norway’s gas across Denmark and the Baltic Sea to Poland.

“The era of Russian domination in the gas sphere is coming to an end,” Morawiecki declared. “An era that was marked by blackmail, threats and extortion.”

The Russians didn’t need to blow it up all the had to do was stop sending gas through.

The Europeans needed it intact for gas when the war is concluded.

That leaves only a few players...

Sabotaging the pipelines is not even close to the sabotaging that Biden and democrats did to the American economy.

Likely more than 50 trillion dollars hit on the economy, but could be closer to 100 trillion.

“Bjorn Lund, a seismologist with Uppsala University...”

That’s got to be like being named “John Smith” in English.

Another option is it could be the Euro-greenies. Think about it.

It's a fact that the Euro-greenie leaders have used their "green" beliefs to control their masses.

It's a fact that the Euro masses are getting tired of hearing "blame the Russians" over the natural gas shortage. They're starting to fuss at the Euro leaders.

It could be that the Euro leaders see Nortstream 2's operation as undermining their control over their masses. If it's shut down, even temporarily from the explosions, they can say, "See? Natural gas isn't as dependable as you think. We need more wind and solar."

The Nord Stream offshore pipeline is ordered and operated by Nord Stream AG.[16][26] It runs from Vyborg compressor station at Portovaya Bay along the bottom of the Baltic Sea to Greifswald in Germany. The length of the subsea pipeline is 1,222 km (759 mi), of which 1.5 km (.93 mi) is in Russian inland, 121.8 km (65.8 nmi) in Russian territorial waters, 1.4 km (.8 nmi) in the Russian Exclusive Economic Zone, 375.3 km (202.6 nmi) in the Finnish economic zone, 506.4 km (273.4 nmi) in the Swedish economic zone, 87.7 km (47.4 nmi) in Danish territorial waters, 49.9 km (26.9 nmi) in the Danish economic zone, 31.2 km (19.3 nmi) in the German economic zone, 49.9 km (26.9 nmi) in German territorial waters and .5 km (.31 mi) on land in Germany.[53] The pipeline has two parallel lines, each with capacity of 27.5 billion cubic meters (970 billion cubic feet) of natural gas per year. Pipes have a diameter of 1220 mm (48 in), a wall thickness of 38 mm (1.5 in) and a working pressure of 220 bars (22 MPa).[16]

NS1 and NS2 are immediately adjacent lines.

Anyone remember this —

I'm hearing reports the USS Kearsage was in the vicinity. Any intel on that?

I don't buy the idea that Russia or the Eurozone masters were responsible. The producers of the gas can just turn the OFF valve, they don't need to sabotage anything. And the consumers are desperate for the gas. Who gains? An article in The National Interest months ago asserted the US would be the chief obstacle to peace in Ukraine. I didn't really appreciate that at the time, but since then there are been multiple reports of the US and lackeys in London and Brussels scuttling peace efforts. So at this point the Biden administration is my chief suspect.

“I’m no expert, but would probably need several hundred lbs (minimum?) of high explosives.”

Not necessarily, because all of that reinforcement is just there to deal with the pressure that exists at that depth on the seabed. It’s not “available” to deal with any extra stresses on the pipeline from an explosion. Just a little bit more pressure than expected would probably be enough to exceed tolerances.

“An article in The National Interest months ago asserted the US would be the chief obstacle to peace in Ukraine.”

The chief obstacle to peace in the Ukraine is Vladimir Putin. He can end the war any time he chooses.

Both pipelines destroyed ensures NATO will not split this winter, as they were CERTAIN, CERTAIN to do otherwise.

Demonstrating to the whole world that the Biden admin is a ship of fools.

No doubt this is a US action.

“Two explosions were detected by Swedish seismologists on Monday, with one occurring at 2:03 a.m. local time and the other at 7:04 p.m. Seismologist Peter Schmidt with Uppsala University in Sweden told Bloomberg that the explosions matched the coordinates of leaks in the pipeline.”

Russia cannot break supply contracts without breaking rubles. So Russia breaks pipeline to cut supply.

In Russia, pipeline breaks you!

To answer my own question, the Kearsage was apparently in the area a few days ago and has since left for the vicinity of the UK. Given I wouldn't expect saboteurs to detonate something while their host ship is parked directly above, this leaves as plausible the idea they planted munitions that were set to detonate well after their ship was long gone. It's not evidence that's what happened, it just leaves it as a plausible scenario.

“I’m hearing reports the USS Kearsage was in the vicinity.”

A UDT SEAL carrier. Sometimes an entire company.

And the perfect means by which to take out these pipelines in an unattributed fashion.

Saw on Faux News that apparently the CIA warned Germany about the pipelines being taken out, which is where all the talk about "something big" happening on September 24, which is only 2 days before the seismographs detected the explosions.

Yep, Inside Job by WEF syncophants, basically the FJB cabal

The Causes and Consequences of the Ukraine Crisis

True, Putin could have surrendered Russian sovereignty as the Capitol District oligarchs worked to put their boot on Russia's neck. Personally I prefer a multi-polar world, warts and all, to one dominated by the same monstrous cabal that has come to power over us.

CIA could certainly do it. Who knows with a rogue bunch like that it’s hard to tell what master they serve.
