I wrote the book on the connection between the Unabomber and the Zodiac Killer, The Unabomber and the Zodiac. I still think Kaczynski is the best of the suspects. I don't know too many known killers who dote on letters to the newspapers and who make allusions to opera in those letters.

And it’s always a new name who it’s been “proven” to be.

Kaczynski had the knowledge for the complex level of encryption taht was used in the letters. However people who use bombs rarely have the courage for up close killing.

I don’t think Kacynski lived in California long enough, including Santa Barbara. They don’t see to have the same pathology. Zodiac didn’t show any interest in the environment. Kacynski doesn’t seem to share any of Zodiac’s motivations.

The Zodiac Killer was witty and impertinent. Kaczynski was a drudge, who went on an on. The Zodiac Killer used codes and disguised his writing.

The Zodiac Killer went to great lengths to make sure his letters couldn’t be traced back to him. Kaczynski made no such effort to conceal, and it was very easy to track it to him.

Stuff like that doesn't make the author very credible.
