Suffering from womens sufferage
CNN ^ | 9/22/2022 | Andrew Kaczynski

A Michigan candidate for the US House backed by former President Donald Trump once railed against giving women the right to vote, arguing that America has “suffered” since women’s suffrage.

John Gibbs, who defeated in the primary an incumbent Republican who had voted to impeach Trump, also made comments in the early 2000s praising an organization trying to repeal the 19th Amendment which also argued that women’s suffrage had made the United States into a “totalitarian state.” Hosted on Gibbs’ personal page at Stanford in 2000 and 2001, the Society for the Critique of Feminism argued for a patriarchal society run by men, calling it “the best model for the continued success of a society.” Gibbs requested the website for the think tank be removed from the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine in 2016, according to a spokesman for the Internet Archive. But CNN’s KFile reviewed it on a different archiving service.

On the site, Gibbs actively argued against women being granted the right to vote, saying it led to an enlarged federal government.

I’d happily give up the right to vote in order to put an end to the political power of lesbian feminists!

(See tagline)

Yes, because men have done such a great job with freedom and compassion all these millenia being in charge.

“I know women who believe that women should not vote.”

Now you know another!

But please bear in mind, that “property requirement” is a myth. First of all, like female suffrage, the states used to be able to decide who voted. 2nd, oftentimes, “property” did not mean any more than having a dollar in your pocket.

I am a woman who believes women should not vote. Good Lord! I love my female friends, but politically they are morons! Strong opinions and total ignorance. Don't know history, don't know geography, don't understand finance, believe everything they see on TV...

I think only land owners should be able to vote. Of course, I'm a woman with a nice bit of land :)

Was he a teenager when he wrote this?

Where is the GOP campaign research on the teenage rantings of his Democrat opponent?

No where, of course.

Pathetic - and, I cannot wait to see the new and improved voter fraud protection the GOP has developed when our guy loses by 500 votes.

Big time politically incorrect..

Recall seeing a sign when researching suffrage:

Something like, From Adam’s rib to Women’s Lib..
We’ve come a long way, baby.

The world has come a long way..
Yet, it hasn’t really changed since the Garden..

And that’s really politically incorrect, too.

Adam and Eve still trying to figure it out..

Human nature hasn’t changed a whit since:

Eve lied to Adam.

Adam fell for it.

Cain slew Abel.

At this point, it would. Women are pretty freakin’ indispensable. Aristophanes realized that over 2000 years ago, and if you took away the franchise from them now, after 100 years, civilization would collapse. The Lysistrata would not be funny anymore.

Women generally are problematic to men, and vise versa. But somehow, men still adore them and vise versa. It takes determined effort to get along, but mankind has been doing that since the dawn of time. The franchise, and its problems, is just a reflection of that reality.

Within a few years of women’s suffrage we saw the rise of the welfare state under Roosevelt, with government becoming a nanny and taxing people to “redistribute” wealth in all manner of unconstitutional ways. I don’t think that’s an accident. Women tend to look for an authority who is also a provider for their lives; in a husband that works fine, but government can only provide by taking from others, making such a thing inherently unjust. While plenty of women reject such a path, I suspect this tendency is strong enough that it proved fatal to the health of the constitutional republic.

“I’ll less concerned about women voting than about non-property owners voting. If a woman owns property, fine, let her vote.”

Does the property owner ‘own the property’ if they’re still carrying a mortgage payment?

I would say they don’t until they pay off their bank note.

I don't disagree. The women's right to vote has lead us down a very bad path as a Nation.

Look at the miscreant 'females' in our House and Senate! Infidels, all. Heck, just look at Hillary! (No, don't. Sorry, LOL!)

If we were going to get the vote, we needed skin in the game as in being a TAXPAYER and/or Land Owner.

If you're neither of these, and you are voting for 'perks' from Mother Government, you shouldn't be voting.

I would change the last line of the above to, 'and then all Hell breaks loose!'

Full disclosure: Taxpayer since I was 15 years old. Owned my first property at age 25. Veteran. Past Business Owner. Future SS recipient; I earned it! It was MY MONEY taken from me in the first place. Plenty of skin in the game.
