I moved to Florida in January. My income went up $200 a week just from no longer paying the ny state income taxes
BTW. NY’ers always used FLA addresses to get lower auto insurance rates.

You would think this sentence in the article would be concerning to the politicians in NYS.
They are going to run out of people to TAX.
How many people making $50K/year does it take to make up for the taxes paid by someone making millions? Don’t give me that crap about how the rich do not pay their fair share either. They pay at 2x-3x the percentage that the average person pays. Especially when you consider the taxes they pay on multiple vehicles, boats and multiple homes.
NY refugees are flooding Florida while California refugees are flooding Texas. Too keep tho populations of all four states stable, Florida and Texas need to transport equal numbers of illegal aliens to NY and California.
I remember Rush saying NY would not let him leave because they wanted his money.
When he moved to Florida he had to keep ATM receipts, credit card receipts, etc just to prove he was there.
They hated the man but loved his money.
I know a conservative Republican family who recently moved there. That’s one very nice family your state got. Surely there are many more.
That is 41k additional Democrat voters coming to turn Florida into NY. Just because they left the little DDR of NY behind doesn’t mean they’ve completely reversed their mindsets and now won’t vote Democrat. Democrat voters are unable or unwilling to face the fact that their voting patterns are what caused them to flee NY in the first place. Anectodal evidence: I was reading a post in that Nextdoor app by some woman in Palm Beach Shores about how she saw kids with a rifle shooting iguanas and called the police (It was doubtless an air gun and shooting iguanas is not only legal it’s encouraged) I don’t know if she was a New Yorker, but her attitude certainly reflected New York values
These people just might keep the real estate market from crashing in Florida. The run-up in prices seems to be unsustainable, but the future is so hard to predict anymore.
