On Friday’s broadcast of C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal,” Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT) said the Inflation Reduction Act is going to work to reduce inflation “in the longer run.” And “probably the center of that bill” is reducing prescription drug costs, which won’t be fully put in place for a few years.
Himes responded to a question on how the act will reduce inflation by stating, “Well, first of all, let’s be very clear, it’s going to work in the longer run. So, the answer to your question is, probably the center of that bill was about reducing senior citizens’ prescription drug costs. … And it will reduce the out-of-pocket costs for seniors. And by the way, the capping of their out-of-pocket cash expenses at $2,000 a year, still a lot of money, but remember, a lot of seniors pay a lot more than that. That is going to be a powerful thing for our senior citizens. Here’s the honest part: It’s not kicking in tomorrow. It’s not kicking in next week. It’s going to take a couple of years to put that in place. But that will have the effect of really alleviating a lot of pressure for seniors.”

If not, what will be his consequences?
He graduated in 1988. Universities weren’t as useless then as they are now.

Wow, this country would have never been built if people who think like this would have been around.
They gotta go ASAP.
No he really is stupid. Democrats/Communist believe government deficit spending creates robust economies. It doesn’t. Roosevelt’s 14 year depression is the best local example. Russia, China, North Korea, Venezuela are best current examples. But Democrats/Communist are bought into this idiocy.
half of americans are.. they voted for biden and him after all.
Not what I heard from my uncle who studied economics and trade at university in the 80's.
There’s the hidden obvious, that spending can’t end in prosperity.
Just like evolution. Give it enough time, it’ll work.
I also recall an undergrad at Syracuse U telling me the economics department had a huge painting of Marx on the wall. That was in ‘92. Who knows how long it had been up before then.
I am so glad I went to a business school with some sense. It was elitist and obnoxious, but one of the main things I remember was this professor saying ‘If you own a company, you don’t want employees. They want money, complain all the time, and get sick’.
Outside of a government and maybe far blue weirdo places that hire trannies, that’s just reality. The main things they taught were free market supply/demand and anti-trust concepts.
We are, and have for 2 years , already have had it “ kick in”...

It will kick in in a few years. Long enough in the future that the inevitable crash of the economy can be blamed on Trump
In the late 1980s Harvard School of Business stopped requesting ethics courses.
Yeah, right. Himes is the same guy who promised us all sorts of savings and miracles with obamacare.
In a July 1, 2012 town hall in Westport Mr. Himes stated that ObamaCare was fully “paid for” with a $1.1 trillion tax. However, and no surprise to most of us, the Congressional Budget Office just announced that ObamaCare’s cost is now estimated at $2.6 trillion. His promise in the 2009 town halls was that each family would save $2,500 under Obamacare and we would get to keep our doctors. When pressed on the premium increases highlighted in his recent town hall, Himes said “we’re trying everything but we can’t be certain when savings will kick in.” At which point a citizen shouts out “we can be certain that the country will go broke.”

My uncle who studied at U of C in the 80's told me all his economics courses pushed free trade and stimulus spending. Said it was so bad he dropped econ for business.
From a representative of the smallest state on the planet. Skip it Himesy. You’re irrelevant. Come back when you grow up, idiot.
Another words....the beatings will continue until morale improves
