As students return to the classroom Monday morning in the Philadelphia public school district, they will now have the option of wearing face masks instead of being mandated to.
According to 6ABC, face masks are now optional but strongly encouraged where the district only required masks for the first 10 days of the school year.
But according to the news outlet, district leaders are saying the mask mandate will return if the COVID-19 Community Level reaches the high level based on CDC standards. Masking may also be required in certain instances, like a school or classroom outbreak or after extended breaks.
Additionally, the district also announced last month it is implementing mask-to-stay. Students and staff who have been exposed to COVID-19, regardless of vaccination status, are no longer required to quarantine at home unless COVID-like symptoms are present. Instead, officials said, they can return to school but are required to wear a high-quality, well-fitted mask for 10 days, 6ABC reported.
If a student tests positive, he or she must isolate at home for at least five days and do virtual learning. If the student is symptom-free after five days, they can return to school but must wear a high-quality mask for five days and eat in a designated area, 6ABC reported.
Good grief, are they still masking?
“Face masks no longer required in Philadelphia school district beginning Monday”
That is mighty white of them.
Two years ago Fauci said masks are ineffective. More than two years ago.

Yes, and they are still alive. I guess you did not realize everyone posting here on FR is now dead, and that includes you and me.
That was quick. The school year just started. I’m guessing that the push-back from parents was massive enough to make even the mighty teachers’ unions blink. See what can be accomplished once you have the determination to take these people on?
Welcome to the world of real science, Philadelphia school district.
You might try hiring school officials who actually have brains next time. And as for your unions...&*^(W them, burn them, flush them, and wash twice.
They lay out several scenarios where they reserve the right to bring masks back......I suspect this pause will be fairly temporary.
It’s all about power and control.....and once these lunatics have it it’s hard to take it back from them.
That’s horrible.
Explains it all!
May as well be a gold star or a pink triangle.
VA still requiring masks.
2 years to stop the “spread.”
Philadelphia schools are run by illiterates. The teachers are illiterate. The administrators are illiterate. They produce illiterate students. It is a multi-generational problem. Most parents, often products of Philadelphia schools, are ignorant to the solutions required.
And then he almost immdediately back tracked which started the whole insanity
Masking was a quick and dirty visual “compliance check” to estimate what percentage of the sheeple would go for the jabs.
And the percentages were/are very close.
It was just the start of “we don’t know, but we need to look like we are doing something”.....
Stoke up fear, science basically says, nothing you can really do... but since you stoked up the fear, have to do something, so just do a whole lot of stupid crap to look like you are doing something.
I guess you did not realize everyone posting here on FR is now dead, and that includes you and me. <<<
