Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell will attend a fundraiser for Arizona Republican Blake Masters later in September, a source familiar with the scheduling told the Daily Caller.
McConnell attended a similar fundraiser for Masters Tuesday evening, where the two Republicans had a “good meeting,” the source said. The planning represents a hatchet-burying for the GOP Senate leader and the ex-venture capitalist. McConnell and other top Republicans have reportedly worried at length about numbers showing Masters trailing incumbent Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly in both fundraising and polling.

Masters continuously blasted McConnell during a fractured Republican primary, promising not to support him for Majority Leader if Republicans take back the Senate. Instead, Masters proposed Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley or Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton as leaders of the Republican Conference, although he acknowledged that McConnell would likely return for a ninth term atop the GOP.
“He’s not bad at everything. He’s good at judges. He’s good at blocking Democrats. You know what he’s not good at? Legislating,” Masters said during a primary debate.
Masters has softened his tone during the general election cycle, however. He told the Associated Press that he “hope[s McConnell] does come in,” and that the two would “find a way to work together.”

I hear you. People like McConnell, Schumer, and Pelosi are why we need term limits and a huge crackdown on civil servants/deep state people. Power corrupts and the longer someone is in that position the more corruption creeps in. For some they have no problem being corrupt like Schumer and Pelosi. I think McConnell probably started out okay but got corrupt along the way.
Too many compromises and favors being thrown around for people stay uncorrupted in the dirty game of politics. Too many opportunities to get get crazy rich using their positions. Very hard to avoid all that “easy money”. Look at AOC. I understand she’s already got a net worth of $5M. How does one do that in a few years making $175k a year?
Too bad the 87k new IRS agents won’t be auditing the congress and government employees first.
Kemp is Georgia not Floridia. I live in Florida and trying to keep the awesome republicans we have. Thankfully Kemp isn’t one of ours. Lol.
I think in early Summer, Mitch had given up on regaining the senate... but the last few weeks, I have sensed a change in his approach, and funding of candidates.
I know he has been doing a great deal of damage lately, but I have to say, I AM HAPPY THAT HE IS GOING TO DO THIS.

I hope he fights like heck. He’ll need to. This is the battle of our future. It’s over if senate gains two seats and holds the house. John Lewis voting rights bill will be passed in January, expand the Supreme Court to 13 seats. One per appeals court. DC a state. And that’s just the appetizer.
There must be some very encouraging internal polls. Mitch is playing nice because he sees a bunch of MAGA senators in the chamber in January and he does not want an insurrection from the right to challenge his position.
The Turle was taken to the wood shed by Trump two weeks ago. Immediately he sent Oz 34 million, now this. Maybe at least the rinos recognize it’s over and Trump beat them.
