NBC Reporter Enraged When People Point Out Who Has Controlled Jackson, MS for Decades

NBC tech and culture reporter Kat Tenbarge tweeted how the ongoing water crisis in Jackson, Mississippi, is the result of "environmental racism" but became upset when users pointed out Democrats have been in control for decades and it appears local politicians ignored warning signs.

"I’s the largest city in Mississippi. It’s 80% Black. Their water system is failing because of years of neglect. This is environmental racism," Tenbarge tweeted.

When conservative commentator Stephen L. Miller said Republicans haven't controlled the city for a long time, Tenbarge said, "Oh, that's where all the racists in my mentions came from."

When has a Republican ever been mayor of Jackson Mississippi?

Wikipedia lists every mayor to 1948 as having been a Democrat.

Leland speed and those prior to him or not listed with a party.

An article posted here had Mayor Kunta Kinte saying it was white people’s fault for moving away.
The Mayor is an outspoken black nationalist.

How insane is that? All this time voting for their oppressors. I really wonder if it’s Stockholm syndrome passed down. Child sees parents praising the oppressors and child grows up and does the same, rinse repeat all the way to 2022

They did the same crap in Flint, Michigan. They somehow blamed a Republican Governor for decisions made by a Democrat Mayor and City Council.

This is exactly the same crap that was pushed in the aftermath of the Katrina disaster. In that case, New Orleans, a city dominated by Democrat leadership, ignored the maintenance and upkeep of their levee system. The city leaders including the Levee Board lined their pockets with local. state and Federal dollars provided to maintain the levee system. And GW Bush was blamed for the disaster because he failed to react as quickly as the local “victims” wanted him to.

Segue to Jackson, Mississippi, seventeen years later. Like the levees in NOLA, maintenance and modernization of the waste water treatment system of Jackson, ignored for years, finally fails. Who could possibly be to blame? Certainly not the Democrats who ruled the City for decades and were totally in charge of the distribution of financial resources. No. It must be environmental racism by the Governor and his ilk.

This is so predictable. But it still makes me want to spit.

Dems are never blamed. The nearest Republican is blamed. If there is no Republican, then every Whitey ever born is blamed.

In the days of Leland Speed and his predecessors, there was basically no Republican party in Mississippi, so it’s a pretty safe bet what their affiliation was.

Your analysis is correct, and yes it is extremely annoying.

Probably. Everyone seems to have some sort of innate drive to fit in. If 89% of the town is Democrat,, it would be social/economic suicide to dissent.

I think it’s forgotten how much the Feds have their hooks into the smaller governmental operations. There is a ton of grant money from the feds available if a place meets the diversity requirements, income requirements and can spew the victim rhetoric. Every grant carries an additional facilitator fee, which can be a hefty amount when it is calculated as a percentage of a municipal budget.

The grift goes deep.

Per Kat Tenbarge...

"When the climate crisis reaches your doorstep, will you look back on the people it affected first and wish you’d done something then?"

First they came for the Jacksonians, and I did not speak out— Because I was not 80% black..

Then they came for the city water, and I did not speak out— Because I had a well...

I's the largest city in Mississippi. It's 80% Black

That's the problem right there.
Blacks have the ability to vote for the most stupid, deranged people on the planet.
Look at Lightfoot in Chicago.
