IAF F-35s penetrated Iranian airspace months ago - Saudi report
Jerusalem Post ^ | 8/24/22 | Staff

According to the report, the purpose of the operation - conducted with the US - was to simulate an aerial and maritime strike on Iran in the Red Sea.

Israeli Air Force F-35 advanced fifth-generation fighter jets penetrated Iranian airspace multiple times over the last two months, according to the Saudi media outlet Elaph. Both Iranian and Russian radars failed to locate them, according to the report.

According to the news site, Israel and the US have conducted large-scale exercises over the Red Sea in order to simulate an aerial and maritime strike on Iran and the seizure of Iranian vessels in the Gulf Sea. The exercises come as part of a series of drills conducted by the two countries both secretly and publicly in order to prepare for strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.

Israel has been preparing its aerial fleet - chief among them the F-35s - to be prepared in the case of a nuclear Iran, specifically upgrading the jets so that they would not require mid-air refueling.

I do wish we’d keep things a lot closer to the vest.

There may be a reason why it makes sense to blare this out
there, but I don’t see it.

The element of surprise is a very important ability.

I wouldn’t even talk about it.

There’s a lot of talk about Israel just going ahead and getting this next war started soon.

Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Jordan - a lot of countries will be torn up.

The only party with a motive to leak it is the Obama/Jarrett cabal in the Biden WH, to let Russia and Iran know so they can have more luck shooting down IAF jets in a real strike. Truly evil.

Israel has made it clear, they will not accept a nuclear armed Iran. It might get critical soon.

I think Iran is the issue. Israel can’t let them have the bomb. One ox cart to
oblivion

I believe Israel conducted these operations, but I don’t believe the U.S. participated. This administration fully supports Iran and hates the U.S.

I agree, and it’s not fond of Israel at all.

The anti-Christ rules them.

Iran in the Red Sea? No -- the practice was over the Red Sea, most of which lies between the KSA and Egypt. Israel has also actually penetrated Iranian airspace. The Red Sea leg appears to have been for practice with in-flight refueling.
May be true, may be a lie, either way it's by some Saudi who supports Iran.

A Saudi news outlet published this info. 1st. At that point, it’s surely not a secret to the Iranians or the Russians, and not much harm if JP publishes it too.

Now, how the info. made it to the Saudis rises a bit of speculation. If it came from a US or Israeli defense source, I’d speculate claiming this might be to push the Iranians & Russians into operating their radars in such fashion to make them more vulnerable to HARM missile attacks. Possibly it is disinformation.

OTOH, it could be carelessness or braggadocio. That is more problematic, and there I would agree with you.

It is of course a very old problem. Relatively recently (well over 30 years ago), a good friend of mine used to work for Texas Instruments’ defense division, developing high end missile guidance systems. He said his boss would complain that he (boss man) would often see supposedly highly classified information from all over TI and other US defense contractors, in articles in journals like Aviation Week and Space Technology, before it got to his desk through approved channels & still classified.

Not a lot they can do about it.

Rooskie air defense systems suck. Ukraine also showed this. Russian weapons sales will go in the toilet. Who is going to buy their crap?
