Maybe, because Richard Nixon announced his resignation on August 8, 1974, effective at noon the following day.

I would not be surprised if the left purposely coordinated the raid to occur on August 8, as a reminder to us they can take down any president they don't like. However, I think it is more likely they wanted to wait until after FBI Director Christopher Wray's testimony before Congress the previous Friday was completed (obviously, they would not want to see their boy grilled by Ted Cruz over the raid).

Yes, August 8 was the date that Nixon announced he was going to resign effective noon on August 9….exactly 50 years ago. That’s why some believe that Matt Pottinger was involved here. He had inside Trump access. His old man was Kissinger’s right hand man and closely involved with bringing down Nixon. They were looking to tie these all together after they found the “juicy bits” in the panty raid at MAL. Joe Scarborough would have fellated himself on live tv…but alas….not to be.
