‘Defund the Police’ Advocate Rep. Cori Bush Spent Nearly $400,000 on Campaign Private Security

Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO), one of the remaining Democrats advocating to defund the police, has spent $393,417.67 in campaign cash for private security this election cycle, according to Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings.

During the 2022 quarter-two election cycle, Bush spent $89,265.67 on her private security detail. Her nearly $90,000 on campaign security is more than $50,000 higher than her campaign’s second-largest expenditure for fundraising services, Fox News reported.

Close to two-thirds of her second quarter security spending went to a security agency that frequently posts against gun control laws, while the rest went to two individuals who share an address with Bush’s campaign.

Fox News detailed:

Peace Security, whose Facebook page is littered with anti-gun control posts, was the biggest recipient of Bush’s security cash, hauling nearly $60,000 from her campaign. The remaining money went to Courtney Merrits and Nathaniel Davis, whose reported address in the filings is the same as Bush’s campaign headquarters.

The $89,265.67 spent in the second quarter brought her security spending for the 2022 campaign up to $393,417.67.

After Bush’s campaign spending for private security was first reported in July 2021, Bush defended her advocacy for defunding the police while spending tens of thousands of dollars on private security detail.

“They would rather I die? ” Bush told CBS.

“I have private security because my body is worth being on this planet right now,” she added.

Apropos of nothing, I used to be skeptical of ESP.

“Defund the police but make sure you protect my precious ass”.

That’s the “I gots mines” theory of politics.

Hey Laz, even though you admitted that because of age and restricted blood flow to certain extremities and that you have bouts with low T, I need to know, would you hit part of this?

Excessive security spending is probably a way to launder campaign cash into their back pocket.

Google search: How much do celebrities pay for private security?
Having been in the employ of the likes of Brangelina and Katy Perry, Cohen is familiar with the amounts Hollywood celebs are budgeting to achieve high-level private security. For a residence needing 24-hour security, the cost can start at around $1.5 million per year.

CNN:
“...for instance, the price tag for job like that is going to be around $1 [million] to $1.4 million a year,” Cohen said. “When you have kids, you need separate security, because everyone is going off in different directions.”

Audit her expense account. Chances are the $400,000 came out of campaign funds but never made it out of her pocketbook much less going to security!

Comrades! Do not be deceived by the lies spread by the likes of Breitbart and Fox ‘News’. Comrade Bush is deeply depressed by the idea that reactionary enemies require her to spend money on security that could be better spent on providing her homeless comrades in St. Louis decent homes and access to chips at local convenience stores. As she eloquently said, her “...body is worth being on this planet right now,”—yours or mine or her constituents’—not so much.

“I have private security because my body is worth being on this planet right now,” she added.

A luxury unavailable to the constituents in her hellhole district.
