"Guess that means one better be using a proper drinking water filter and not drinking from the tap."

Actually, about every disease germ known to mankind is found in waste water, most of which will kill quickly.

Sounds like our only hope is to take an experimental Monkeypox vaccine, boosted monthly, until the virus disappears.

Due to faulty journalism we don’t know if this matters.

Example: Early AIDS days they said AIDS was found on towels two or three days after contact. But.....later found it wasn’t transmitted from towels.

Another: Wearing a mask outdoors will prevent Covid. Later it was stated not one single case of Covid was found as caused by outdoor contact.

It matters, because it show that the virus is actively being transmitted in the service area of the sewage system. All it takes is transmission from one human to one animal for the virus to become endemic in North America. That's really what we should be worried about.

Sounds like our only hope is to take an experimental Monkeypox vaccine, boosted monthly, until the virus disappears.

Smallpox vaccines are used against Monkeypox. The ACAM2000 is a modernized version of the Dryvax vaccine in use in the US from the 1950's till Smallpox vaccination of civilians stopped in 1972. Dryvax was still used by the US Department of Defense till the early 2000's when the ACAM2000 became available.

The experimental vaccine is the JYNNEOS® vaccine from Bavarian Nordic. It was developed in the 1960's to be a gentler vaccine than the Dryvax and earlier Smallpox vaccines. It is made from the Ankara version of the Vaccinia virus and has lost the ability to replicate in mammalian cells. The problem is that it never had the opportunity to be proved effective against Smallpox due to the eradication of Smallpox in 1977. That's why it is experimental. After the terrorist attacks of 9/11/2001 and the anthrax attacks a few weeks later, the CDC and DoD conducted trials of JYNNEOS® and antiviral treatments to show effectiveness.

As the traditional Smallpox vaccine was by far the most dangerous vaccine used in the 20th century, I would not recommend it against Monkeypox. I would only want to get 2 doses of the the JYNNEOS® vaccine which is technically experimental.

So many scientific illiterates. First off no one is saying drink the sewerage water or that is spread from contact with that water. Although a number of diseases are spread by contaminated waters. Cholera, dysentery, typhoid are all scourges on humanity and were primarily spread through contaminated water.

Since we in the first world don’t drink raw water , and chlorinate or ozone our drinking water the transmission of pathogens via drinking water is virtually nonexistent so calm down.

Second the sampling and surveillance of the waste water stream is a common scientific practice as the child’s book says everybody poops. Human waste carries with not only the DNA of the person but also nearly every illness they would have is shedding DNA in the same waste streams.
Sampling waste water allows for the detection of diseases circulating in the general population without direct testing of individuals it’s a broad net with a direct correlation to the concentration of DNA in the stream to number of sick people. Polio has been detected this way before an outbreak takes off allowing early intervention.

I know it’s hard for mouth breathing types to actually read and comprehended materials before word vomiting. There is solid science behind waste water testing programs so much so nearly every major municipality does it. In this case the testing is showing a clear biological signature of monkeypox dna in the water stream indicating an on going outbreak with a mass under count of cases as in there are more people who are shedding Mpox DNA than are counted with positive tests.

That is not at all surprising given the very limited testing criteria it’s like the beginning of Covid when only certain people could get tested but lots of people were exposed.

In general, so is anthrax. Ebola, etc. Virii can float in aerosols and travel miles. So bloody what you can find one in waste water?
If your system cannot fight off a single virus particle (not tens of thousands like are found in a single WuhanFlu aerosol) you are already dead and just don’t know it.

With sewage in the streets, water in the storm drain system would be “waste water.” I assume that SF has a storm drain system separate from their sewer system.

Yep, and it’s worse in bath houses. I lived in SF many years ago when AIDS was first diagnosed. Had a few gay friends — everyone there does —and the best looking of the bunch told me that he went to bath houses and everyone in there was doing everyone else. They might have 15 “partners” a night.

Incredible.

We don’t even know if it’s really monkeypox.

Or are people really gonna take the word of proven serial liars for this...
