So many scientific illiterates. First off no one is saying drink the sewerage water or that is spread from contact with that water. Although a number of diseases are spread by contaminated waters. Cholera, dysentery, typhoid are all scourges on humanity and were primarily spread through contaminated water.

Since we in the first world don’t drink raw water , and chlorinate or ozone our drinking water the transmission of pathogens via drinking water is virtually nonexistent so calm down.

Second the sampling and surveillance of the waste water stream is a common scientific practice as the child’s book says everybody poops. Human waste carries with not only the DNA of the person but also nearly every illness they would have is shedding DNA in the same waste streams.
Sampling waste water allows for the detection of diseases circulating in the general population without direct testing of individuals it’s a broad net with a direct correlation to the concentration of DNA in the stream to number of sick people. Polio has been detected this way before an outbreak takes off allowing early intervention.

I know it’s hard for mouth breathing types to actually read and comprehended materials before word vomiting. There is solid science behind waste water testing programs so much so nearly every major municipality does it. In this case the testing is showing a clear biological signature of monkeypox dna in the water stream indicating an on going outbreak with a mass under count of cases as in there are more people who are shedding Mpox DNA than are counted with positive tests.

That is not at all surprising given the very limited testing criteria it’s like the beginning of Covid when only certain people could get tested but lots of people were exposed.

There you go making sense-hopefully, it works-most people don’t realize they will never be exposed to the wastewater of others unless they go swimming at a wastewater treatment facility-or the sewer system in the city they live in has a catastrophic breakdown-like in a hurricane, etc. In a rural area, your own septic tank is the only sewage in the immediate area-no reason to panic, either...
