GOP Senate Candidates Are Way Behind Democrats in the Money Race: When it comes to fundraising, Republican Senate candidates are lagging.

The GOP may be doing well in the polls, but when it comes to fundraising, Republican Senate candidates are lagging.

Why is that important? Fundraising says a lot about a candidate’s organization and the enthusiasm and commitment of his supporters. It’s also a rough indicator of how a candidate is faring in the race.

With less than four months to go before election day, several incumbent Democratic candidates are running rings around their Republican opponents on the fundraising circuit and threatening to bury some challengers under a mountain of cash.

From Axios:

It’s as if big GOP donors either don’t realize a Senate majority is in reach or wrongly think it’s a sure thing. And it’s clear they don’t like a lot of the Trumpy candidates.

Context: Democratic Senate candidates are posting blockbuster hauls.

What’s happening: In Arizona, the leading Republican candidate, Blake Masters, raised just $827,000 in the quarter ($1.58 million cash on hand) to $13.6 million ($24.9 million cash on hand) for Sen. Mark Kelly, the Democratic incumbent.

There are a few caveats to this narrative.

After all, one of the subplots of the 2020 election was Democratic Senate candidates raising stupendous sums of money and then losing to Republicans anyway, in many cases badly. When Beto O’Rourke set a then-record for Senate fundraising in 2018, he at least gave Ted Cruz a scare in the general election that fall.

Beto had a huge money advantage over Ted Cruz and Jimmy Kimmel publicly disliked Ted Cruz in 2018. What could go wrong for Beto?

I’d love to know who’s funding it all. I’m betting a significant portion is coming from a small group, liberal billionaires/WEF types, that have control of many in Congress and make substantial money from the taxpayer.

It’s a result of hiring and education policies over two generations. See who has the money.

In a woke world well heeled conservatives may have determined it is not safe to give to Republican candidates or PACs in the same way conservative students remain silent on college campuses. Any conservative young executive, particularly a white male, climbing the ladder of a large corporation with a woke board of directors and woke CEO, would be insane to create any public record suggesting support politically for conservative candidates or conservative principles. Likewise conservatives employed by government are not going to draw attention to themselves, and face discrimination in the workplace, by registering to vote as Republican or by making contributions to GOP candidates. Imagine being a young conservative college professor today facing a decision regarding tenure by a faculty of extreme leftists. A campaign contribution to a GOP candidate, or comment supporting a conservative candidate, would have woke students and liberal professors demanding your expulsion.

The left is aggressively working to target and destroy anyone who stands in their way and to cut off the flow of money to the conservative political movement through intimidation. The cancel culture tactics used successfully to silence free speech and censor speech in social media are also being effectively used to choke off funding to conservative politicians.

The little guys won’t donate to a group that includes Murkowski, Collins, and the rest of the RINOs.

I have no idea what Rick Moron is smoking but I can guess. He compares Rat incumbents in AZ and GA with big out of state money to undecided or recent GOP primary winners. Well of course Blake Masters hasn’t raised a ton of money, he’s still in a competitive primary. Meanwhile, the NRSC controlled by Rick Scott has had record fundraising this cycle while Peter Thiel will pump cash in for his people like Masters and JD Vance.

The Democrats have the elites. The Republicans will have a lot more voters in November.

The best support money can’t buy is letting the Democrats self destruct. They’re doing a fine job of showing how out of touch they are with Americans.

With a very few exceptions I stopped donating to the GOP. I am tired of them being the party of losing and then complaining that it wasn’t fair and asking for more money. For years it’s been like watching the good guy lose in a rigged professional wrestling match. When given a chance to do something meaningful, they turn on their own (Trump). With Biden in office they can’t even be the party of opposition thanks to Rinos. Neither party is working for election integrity, a balanced budget, stopping illegal immigration, to reign in a most biased Justice Department, etc. They work for themselves and not for the people who elect them. I fear and pray for my country for the idiots are in charge.

Oh noes! This means we’re gonna lose Mable!

Please! what is happening now is that Trump is getting all the money and we are trusting him to fund maga candidates.

I know items like this make the hearts of the Surrender Monkeys beat faster thinking “This is it! This is where we are proved right and Republicans are going to lose.

Don’t look at things like this - look at what the rodents and their media do not what they say.

Our good friends at Real Clear Politics have already conceded 21 rodent House seats - so it is over in the House,
That frees up tons of money for the Senate races.

Bottom line the rodents have nothing to offer - this is just a “publishing deadline” piece designed to draw clicks.

Is it true - yes of course - does it mean anything in the long run? not so much.

I work for a living. I don’t have the extra cash to give to some decrepit old pedo of either party so he/she/it can take my hard earned money then turn around and grab ankles for China. Nope.

I'd love to know how much foreign money is making its way to democrats. It's been happening for a while and nothing has been done to stop it.

“ As the GOP becomes more of a working-class party, it stands to reason that small-dollar donations might dry up in a period of high inflation.”

Bull Excrement, the small dollar folks like me stopped donating because the RINOS no longer represent us. Support in any form for Red Flag laws, no matter how trivial they claim it was, is a red line for me. Finally got tired of the calls and told the GOP caller to “f-off I have told you repeatedly to stop bothering me, GOP supports Red Flag laws. You will be lucky to even get a vote from me in November.” They stopped calling, for now. I notice recently, the GOPe is pushing Pence as the party leader, like he was the former President. My dislike for Pence has nothing to do with Jan 6th, he is a Ryan clone and phony man of faith. Republicans like him are the reason they lost me.
