She also regularly takes her son to drag events and once surprised him with a trip to Las Vegas to meet his favorite drag queen.

Threats to Carter and/or her son are bullshit and I hope those making them are prosecuted.
Finally, I would say to Ms.Carter that if your against the 2nd Ammendment (masquerading as a gun reformer is the same thing); AND, you are for (generally speaking) never ending expansions of gay rights you are in the wrong state.
1. You’re free to make eccentric choices in life. Other people are free to disapprove.
2. The woman was “threatened with violence?” Was it actual violence, or was this the standard leftist “disagreement = violence” counter-accusation? If the former, why not call the police?
3. The woman is raising her son in the transsexual mold. Where is this poor kid’s father?
