On “Last Week Tonight” the host took aim at skyrocketing rents and some of the greedy attitudes behind them.

Someone needs to teach this English twit about the concept of supply and demand.
Yeah, there’s no such thing as greedy landlords, they just don’t exist.
Everyone who can pay their bills is greedy to a Leftist.
I suppose the twit thinks they somehow got used to not making money, so they should continue to give their tenants free housing.
Plus they should give each of their renters a unicorn as well.
They are full-on Communists who pine for Venezuala and then, ultimately, Cambodia.
There is no class of people more greedy than leftists and their never ending demands for free stuff.
Greedy politicians have caused inflation, thus high rents.
Just guessing, but JO probably didn’t push any money back across the table for any of his employment contracts.
John buy a lot of property and rent it very cheap.
The rent waiver during COVID said “payment for rent could only be initiated by the renter to get the rent money. So landlords of course had to sit and wait until and if the renter wanted to get the rent money. Time was of no consideration to the renter as they couldn’t be evicted and government was going to give them the rent money so they were in no hurry to initiate.
In the meantime, landlords had to fix, repair their rentals, pay taxes, mortgage, etc all without any rent money.

We have a large ranch home with 3 beds and two baths here on the homestead we have rented out . It is now sitting empty and is likely to be that way . We lost close to 6 thousand bucks this year already from theft and destruction of property not to mention they screwed us repeatedly on the rent . We give up . If there are decent renters out there we haven’t found them yet . EMT’s going up the drive at 3am to shoot one of their kids up with narcan for an overdose . Twice in one week . It isn’t worth the grief . We rented it for much less than we could have in this neighborhood and yet they still destroyed and stole us blind .
Greedy landlords? Try Biden incompetence.

Their favorite word is “selfish” regarding “capitalists”.
Never once is it applied to the lazy bums they insist need free welfare.
Landlords weren’t allowed to ask for rent for months during the lockdowns.

That’s your problem right there. I know you were probably just trying to be nice, but that attracts a certain kind of renter.
The greediest thing on the face of earth is GOVERNMENT! It is insatiable and not subject to supply and demand forces. They squeeze every drop out of their peasants just shy of a true tax revolt.
