Left-leaning CNN political analyst Van Jones praised Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Thursday for what he described as a “very smart” response to billionaire Elon Musk’s tweet expressing potential support for the governor in the 2024 presidential election cycle.
Jones weighed in after CNN aired a clip of DeSantis’ response to a tweet in which Musk said he was leaning toward backing the Florida governor if he runs for president in 2024. The South Africa native also noted that he supported Andrew Yang during the 2020 election but “DeSantis has a better chance of winning.”
“So what I would say, you know, I’m focused on 2022, but with Elon Musk, what I would say is, you know, I welcome support from African-Americans. What can I say?” DeSantis said at a press conference, drawing some laughter from the crowd.

DeSantis is a YUGE speed bump for the VANguard of the Revolution.
It was a clever remark. I had to stop and mentally mull it for a quick moment, then ‘Of Course!!’ Elon IS an African-American, writ large.
Chris Christie has indicated that he still doesn’t know very much personally about DeSantis, b/c DeSantis tends to keep his own council, and does not pal around with other GOP’s to the same degree as most up and coming politicians would be expected to do. I believe Chris is telling the truth.
Eventually, DeSantis will have to widen his circle of close friends, in order to obtain the richest of donors, but till then, live your own life, make up your own mind as much as possible.
Very clever quip. DeSantis is a huge Trump supporter and I think, wants to make Florida solidly republican in his next term.
His Telegram channel is chock full of positive Trump. He knows 2028 is his year.

He’s alluding to one more Trump term and then DeSantis in 2028.
I understand that, but no one is ever meant to be preordained or ‘coronated’ as GOP Nominee. May the best republican man or woman win (as seen & vetted in the autumn of 2023).

The cheat machine was setup to beat Trump in Florida to humiliate him and his supporters. That Hispanic (Cubans?) vote was so overwhelming the only thing they had was to try and counter it with an immediate (early) call of Arizona for Biden.
"They" by now everyone knows, it was Fox News made that call.
You can deny it if you want. But Fox News is at least partly responsible for giving us Biden.
Because you're letting them get away with it, they'll do it again. If not to Trump, to DeSantis.

My first impression of DeSantis’s quip about ‘African-Americans’ was, “Wow!, How Reaganesque.”
