California Governor Gavin Newsom tried to reframe the political narrative on crime Saturday, claiming that America has a “red state murder problem,” rather than a problem of homicide in Democrat-controlled cities across the nation.
Newsom was speaking with Elex Michaelson, host of The Issue Is podcast, on the occasion of the Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles. He claimed the media had inflated the broader significance of the recall of San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin.

I don’t have the stats in front of me. But if he wants to compare murder rates of major cities, including in his own state, to murder rates of red states, let’s have that conversation.

Gavin Newsom has an opening to run for POTUS as a popular governor of the largest state, not saying any of this is true, but he will be formidable should he run for POTUS.

Newsom can be a formidable candidate, but, he’s a white heterosexual male. In a Democrat world in which they want to celebrate diversity, a white heterosexual male is the least acceptable candidate.
I wonder about Democrats also, that if Biden doesn’t run for re-election, isn’t Kamala supposed to be the heir apparent? And she checks off some of those diversity boxes. Will Democrat powers that be push her aside, for a white heterosexual man?????
