Ospreys seem to crash on a regular basis. Just how useful is this craft especially in the modern technological era and should it be retired?
Are libtards peddling our uranium stockpiles again? 🤪
California now more toxic.
And it’s about 115 degrees out there during the day.
V-22 Osprey? What?
You got it backwards the Osprey is an evolution of the helicopter and airplane combining both aspects. They won’t be retiring them since they spent billions the last 20+ years to get the program working for the Marines, and they would have no other fast transport in place.
Since when do they carry nuclear content on Osprey?
So regular that Osprey accidents have their own Wikipedia page:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accidents_and_incidents_involving_the_V-22_Osprey
"The V-22 Osprey has had 13 hull loss accidents that have resulted in a total of 46 fatalities. "
Los Alamos built nuclear grenades in the 70s.
Is there a chance they were loaded with too much hairspray??
It is pride month, so maybe there’s some other exotic things are occurring on the Osprey
Early on in developing this aircraft for a military role the Marine Corps had real issues ... it was considered a widow maker. Its safety record improved over time ... however, the aircraft requires a great deal of maintenance for every one hour flown it requires 21 hours of maintenance. That was of 5 years ago ... it may have improved.
“This appears to be a Broken Arrow event.”
Nope.
Biden moving nukes into place for a first strike. Biden doesn’t have many years left so screw everyone else. GO JILL.
What’s the event then. A PET scan go rogue?
Yes, most likely a relatively weak sealed rad source for detector calibrations and daily QC checks, and not likely to be much to worry about.
I couldn’t see any reason for them to have something like a radiography source on an Osprey.
Maybe they were heading to Vegas:
“Survival kit contents check. In them you’ll find:
- One forty-five caliber automatic
- Two boxes of ammunition
- Four days’ concentrated emergency rations
- One drug issue containing antibiotics, morphine,
vitamin pills, pep pills, sleeping pills, tranquilizer pills
- One miniature combination Russian phrase book and Bible
- One hundred dollars in rubles
- One hundred dollars in gold
- Nine packs of chewing gum
- One issue of prophylactics
- Three lipsticks
- Three pair of nylon stockings.
Shoot, a fella’ could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff.”
Lots of military aircraft can carry that. Back in the dark ages we sent one of our Sikorsky CH-53D up fo MCAS Cherry Point for “nuclear weapons transport” training.
The trainers kept adding more and more tie down chains. When the crew chief asked “why so- many” he read told, “It had to withstand 50g acceleration! “
Our crew chief replied “This this will come apart WAY below 50g!
“They were likely vaxxed — and that’s all that matters.”
Definitely. All deaths are caused by the vax you know. :-)
A friends dad worked on the control algorithms for Bell.
Non trivial.
