Multi-Millionaire Washington Nationals’ pitcher Sean Doolittle recently joined a webinar hosted by the Democratic Socialists of America to speak about socialism and baseball.
The event held Sunday was put on by the DSA’s Baseball Caucus, the Democratic Socialist Labor Commission, and the DSA’s National Political Education Committee.
“Join us for a webinar about baseball workers brought to you by DSA baseball fans featuring Simon Rosenblum-Larson (founder of More Than Baseball and Tampa Bay Rays affiliate), Max Gerboc (SEIU Local 1 stadium worker organizer), and Sean Doolittle (DSA member and Washington National).”
Doolittle, who is a proud socialist, signed a five-year $10.5 million contract in 2014, and is making $1.5 million a year with $2.1 million in incentives since coming onto the Nationals. Since first hitting the big leagues, this socialist has earned approximately $22 million. Pretty good for a commie, huh?
But Doolittle is aggrieved, you see. He is upset that MLB players don’t get enough of the cash from the league’s annual revenue.
He was also one of those players furious that the league was making them play during the COVID hysteria.
Doolittle also spoke out in favor of gun control in the wake of shooting in Uvalde, Texas.

Washington’s Doolittle, has the right name, and he plays in the right city, for his socialist views.
Socialism is for all those “little people” who will be assigned tasks in the labor camps.
Apply it to baseball then. For every run scored, each team gets .25 points and the umpires get .5 points.

The Dodgers wore rainbow caps the other day. The Tigers announced they support transgender surgery for kids. It isn’t much of a sport anymore.

It the “socialists” at that particular event are anything like the “socialists” I met back on campus, I would be willing to bet that “socialites” is a far more accurate term.

Just another reason why I have no interest in anything other than watching or playing a game with family. It’s a game. Paying people millions to play a game?
I consider myself better than average at welding, driving a semi, operating heavy equipment, and teaching a Sunday school class. Life skills are the necessary reality. Look at the money and time wasted on sports. Making heros out of ordinary people because they can play a game well.
IMO, glorifying athletes is very effective at lowering the observers IQ.
If they are socialists, why don’t they donate all their money to the government.

My personal experience with socialists in my extended family and otherwise has been that they all believe that they will be exempt from all the crap that the rest of us are going to be subjected to. Thus they think socialism is just fine.
I would prefer your skills over theirs any day. I have a few of my own that have served me fairly well over the years.
