Russia has lost another colonel in Ukraine as Vladimir Putin's top brass continues to suffer heavy casualties in his miscalculated invasion.
Lieutenant-colonel Zaur Dimayev, deputy commander of the 4th battalion of the Akhmat Kadyrov special forces regiment, was killed Tuesday by an artillery barrage in the Donbas region, Telegram channel Baza reported today.
Dimayev was riding in a military SUV through the village of Kamyshevakha, Luhansk province, when it was hit by a Ukrainian shell, according to the site - which is thought to have links to Russian intelligence.
It brings the total number of Russian colonels killed fighting to at least 49, though no official tally has been published by either Kyiv or Moscow.

Isn’t that what they said about Vietnam in the late 1960’s?
The answer to that is complex the NVA-VC took a beating but their supply chain was intact Soviet ships got into Haiphong OK without US bombing.
The situation really a stalemate that ended up on a negotiating table although it could have been won with the bombing of the important targets in North Vietnam for starters.

Ramzan Kadyrov made peace with Putin after that war that razed Grozny with 25,000 Chechens killed. Putin has bought off the Kadyrov led Chechens by bribing them, via sending them three billion dollars a year.

SURE! Let’s see. A general is killed every other day, a colonel is killed every day, Russians have lost half of their fighting men, and, of course, Putin has cancer and will die tomorrow.

Just spent a week there trying to help his in-laws.
Said Ukraine is going to lose. But well take a lot of Russians with them.
So, are ANY Ukrainian offers being killed? Zalensky says the Ukes are losing 50+ a day KIA. Are any of those officers?
Russians are claiming they are hitting command centers and killing field grade officers.
Who on earth would take either side’s claim at face value?
War is just plain awful no matter who the “good guys” or the “bad guys” are.
The winner will be the side that can endure the most pain.
