One Republican senator and one Democratic senator are hoping they can find some common ground on gun reforms that will garner enough Republican support to pass the 60-vote threshold in the Senate in the wake of the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, that left 19 children and two adults dead.
Republican Senator John Cornyn and Democratic Senator Chris Murphy will meet virtually on Tuesday to "see if we can agree on a basic framework" about how to go forward on gun legislation proposals, according to an aide to Cornyn. An aide to Murphy confirmed the senator "is participating in tomorrow's meeting and will be holding meetings throughout the week."

Your post reminds me that there are literally thousands of gun control laws already on the books. And that begs questions of what additional law, would prevent massacres.
This guy was already in violation of numerous gun laws before he began his rampage.

Supposedly, a teacher propped ot open to go out to her car, to get her phone, saw the maniac approaching and ran back inside, leaving the door propped open.
Probably didn’t want it to close and lock her out, forcing her to go around to the main entrance.

People seem to still think that the GOP gets tricked or suckered into signing up to things they swore at every election that they would never do. They call them “the stupid party”. But here’s the truth: they wait for a time when they think they can do these things that they secretly always intended to do without being criticized and they do them. then they let you all give them a pass for being “stupid” and assume you’ll all still show up to vote for them for the only reason - literally all they have to offer - is they are supposedly better than the democrat.
