Good point. Today’s cops know that there are Soros prosecutors who would love nothing better then to send them “downstate” for life.They’re damned if they do,they’re damned if they don’t.

I was thinking the same thing.
45 years ago cops started carrying their own long rifles in the vehicle after some certification.
Their thinking was what you would expect as reasoning for carrying a long gun.

A “government lawyer” ordering zero risk to protect his “client” from the “predatory lawyer” looking for the gap to slither through to make a “financial killing” for his “client”. Gap automatically there if “client” is a minority! The Race Card always pays!
Obamy sent a bunch of military gear to small towns. It made great photo ops for the cops to dress up like ninjas.
They aren’t any good to anyone if they’re dead or severely wounded.
The dark clothes are great for hiding in the corner until danger is past.
Big mouth, chest pounding Texans with guns reduced to onlookers complaining about the police when it gets serious.
And they certainly aren't going to put down their jelly filled sugar donut to do something as frivolous as save the life of a child.
