Good points, worthy of a real investigation.

If the murderer had been a straight White guy, that investigation would be underway.

We find out the cops waited an hour, holding back parents hearing their children be killed by a mental patient.

I’m supposed to be willing to turn in my arms and allow the government to protect me?? Yeah, that’ll happen.

Well said.

If only there was armed law enforcement.

There goes that argument.

80 mile chase?

Texas DPS just said it was a quarter-mile from grandma’s to the school.

Grandma shot after 11am. He sent a couple Instagrams and was at the school before 11:30.

Why would a US Marshall be there so quickly? I know that border agents live there so I wasn’t too surprised one of them was involved, but a US Marshall in such a small town?

Either these cops aren’t being trained to quickly and effectively neutralize situations like this, or else they were being ORDERED to stand down and let things happen.

Funny how there are several reports of parents being restrained by the cops though…

Had my kid been in that school - with everyone just standing around watching and listening to gun shots, I’d have run in there with my own gun..

Wanna bet the cops would’ve been more than happy to shoot THAT parent?

This stinks to high heaven.

Heh. I hate to pile on the police, but this slow drip of bad news is devastating.

For instance, some reports still say two officers were wounded early in the shooting. Not sure if that’s factual. And the maddening part is what does wounded mean?
Will wounded become injured tomorrow and by Sunday become skinned elbow?

And in the end, it comes down to a form of cowardice, shared by a committee. Once someone in charge decided that waiting for SWAT was the plan, it was in every cop’s interest to go along and not risk their lives. Doing so could be seen as insubordination.

On the other hand, recall Obama just reminded Democrats that his war on cops goeis back on when he spouted his crap about George Floyd. The far left really wants to nationalize or even globalize policing, so beware of that agenda when reading or listening to all reporting.

According to the article I saw yesterday his grandmother was in San Antonio and the kid was on the road in his truck and did something to attract the border patrol (erratic driving or shot at them) and that led to a chase that ended at the school.

Some police need to be fired. The cops all got to go home—the children went to the Morgue. If every cop had died in a firefight with the shooter—and that had saved a SINGLE child—it would have been worth it. The kids were left to be living targets to feed a madman’s lust for revenge for real and imagined crimes against him.

This “article” is such absolute bullshit.

I'm on your side along with every other BS article that is fast to interview parents and spectators who only report what they "think" they saw with absolutely no understanding on what was going on.

And the idiot Rambos here who know everything about the event from the sporadic camera videos and panic stricken parents and how it should have been handled.

I'm being attacked left and right for advocating that all speculation should be left by the wayside until the final report comes out.

You know that ain't gonna happen with all the tactical experts here who rely on the internet reports and personal cameras......LOL!

Why is this starting to look like a Democrat dark ops operation? They need something, anything, before November to turn things their way. Would you put it past them?

I’ve jumped to conclusions in the past, not any longer.
Multiple articles painting police response as bad but I have no faith in American press. We’ll get some answers once some foreign press begin to investigate.

But damnit, I’d expect a Texas school lot should’ve had multiple armed citizens.
After all the he defund the police crap in the last couple years and now the tragedy it feels like I don’t have all the info yet.

If the police had responded immediately most of the students who were actually shot might have survived. In 40 minutes, you can die from a superficial wound. I suspect most of these children died from blood loss.

The cops cannot possibly have an excuse for waiting. They should all be fired and lose their pensions.

Cowards.

Let's take a major incident as an example: the killing of Osama bin Laden. Yes, the SEALS pulled the trigger that day, but you had Army SF, 75th Rangers, and all manner of supporting units forming multiple security perimeters. They didn't all just run towards the compound and start shooting.

In the Texas scenario, there MIGHT be some legitimate issue with the initial officers on the scene failing to chase the shooter in a timely manner. We don't know for sure yet but from what I'm hearing, some USBP agents went in while some local cops stayed outside for unknown reasons.

However, the officers who responded later needed to set up a perimeter. They have no idea how many shooters are present. They have no idea who the parents are and who the possible threats are. You cannot have hundreds of cops streaming into a building with guns blazing. There were many cops breaking windows pulling kids out of the school, but the shooter was in the one classroom shooting out the window. At some point the arriving officers needed to keep people away from the gunfire.
