... “United Ground Express informed us that the employee has been terminated,” an airline rep said in an email, referring to the company’s connection subsidiary.
The viral footage captured the unidentified worker shoving ex-Denver Broncos cornerback Brendan Langley, 27, who then unleashes a flurry of blows that send the employee reeling about 11 a.m. Thursday. ...
“You saw that s—?” Langley shouts at a bystander before delivering a punch that sends the worker to the floor and left him bleeding from the head.
The bloodied United worker stumbles back on his feet and confronts the football player again.
“You wants some more? He wants some more!” Langley yells at him. ... Langley, a receiver for the Canadian Football League’s Calgary Stampeders, has been arrested on a charge of simple assault, the Port Authority told CNN.
It was unclear from the clip who threw the first punch, but the now-former airline worker has not been charged in the fracas, according to TMZ. ... The fight is believed to have begun when Langley used a wheelchair to transport his luggage — instead of a luggage cart that cost $5, the Daily Mail reported.
Langley addressed the incident on Twitter, writing: “yall aint off the hook… worst customer experience in the entirety of my life on Heaven!!!!” He then claimed in a tweet that he was assaulted by the United worker and was defending himself.
A United rep told The Post in an email Monday the company “does not tolerate violence of any kind at our airports or on board our planes and we are working with local authorities to further investigate this matter.”
Meanwhile, the Calgary Stampeders said they are investigating the incident involving their player.

Fired and Pimp Slapped is no way to go through life
Honestly, if he used a wheelchair you give him heck and then leave it. You let it go.
You call a supervisor and let them fight.

“The fight is believed to have begun when Langley used a wheelchair to transport his luggage — instead of a luggage cart that cost $5, the Daily Mail reported.”
LOL. Cheap SOB. Yep. He broke some rules there.
But that’s not when the fight started. The fight started when someone threw the first punch. Not sure who did dat.
Yep, the employee called him out on his Black privilege.
If you watch the full video it is clear it was the NFL player who threw several punches before the luggage guy responded.
Luggage guy should not have fought back though being at work.
However, I am really tired of the behavior of some members of certain groups.
Good, the guy was a horses rear.
I miss the old days when folks confined their fights to a Chuck E. Cheese before midnight, and to a Waffle House after midnight.
Now Human Resources will have to add several pages with big pictures explaining to employees that they may not get in brawls with passengers—should be amusing training sessions.
“Even if they punch you first, you may not punch them back!”
;-)
Maybe there were no luggage carts left. Maybe passenger tired of being charged exorbitant prices for peanuts or drinks. Perp seemed as if he was in shape and employee didn’t have the athletic chops.. ex-nfl player should have complied with the rules. Employee should have called airport security after first encounter. Bad choices all over the place.
“If you watch the full video it is clear it was the NFL player who threw several punches before the luggage guy responded.”
Makes sense. He was the one arrested.
So you got a guy using a wheelchair as a luggage cart and punches an employee of the airlines when he is called out on it. You can’t make this stuff up. Crazies are out there.
Is the wheelchair airport property meant to help elderly or weak people? If so, the worker should get his job back, and the football player should pack fewer suitcases if he doesn’t want to pay a measly $5 for a luggage cart.
“Maybe there were no luggage carts left.”
Not buying it. :-)
Cops said “Let’s go Brendon” as they arrested him.
My question is who threw the first punch? If it was the United employee he deserved to be fired. If not him he should be told to just report to duty as normal.
PS worked in the VA Hospital for years. One never instigated violence with a patient that was unruly. One had ever right to defend but not harm if possible and such only a last resort.
Odd story: Two in the morning and walking down the hall of the wards. I saw an altercation between a patient (he was young and strong) and getting the best of our security. Oddly our security could have subdued him easily if they used what they were trained to do but did not as was policy.
I joined the fray and with three we subdued the patient.
Oddly he was not a bad guy. He had extreme mental problems. His grasp of reality was not real. Weeks later he apologized for his actions. He was not a bad guy and just needed help. The security and I just laughed about it. It was just another day for them and this pharmacist. Post encounter I just went back to my pharmacy and did my job.
My boss asked me “what the hell happened.” I told him the cops were losing and needed help.
The football player was wrong, but the proper thing to do would have been to give him heck over it and not get into a fist fight.
I deal with this level of inconsideration all the time in my work. The airline employee’s job is not to stop it but to reduce it to a minimal.
